HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-01-24 Adjourned Minutes The recessed meeting of the Tukwila City Council was called to order by the Mayor Charles 0. Baker. Councilmen present were, Stan Minkler, Mr. A.6, Radford, R.K. Doyle E.W. Ives and Mr. Hamilton. Mr Tyler, Mr. Cottom, and Mr Turner from Seattle City Light w also in attendance. Mayor 'esker read a letter received from the City Beople, asking for an opportunity to improve and beautify the City. The letter in brief requested permission to: 1. Paint the City Hall a red with white trim 2. Paint the bulliten beards and bus stop 3. Request donations this to be included in the water bills) 4. Check the City ordinance in regard to potted plants 5. Clean undesirable spots 6.Further park improvement. Mrs. Radford, Mrs. Drew and Mrs. Todd represented the Beautification Committee, they will work on this project with Mr. Ives. Mr. Minkler brought up the subject of trailers within the City limitw. Mayor Baker asked the building committee, Mr. Ives and Mr. Radford to review ordinance #266 relating to trailers with Mr. Long. Mayor Baker read a letter from the King County Commissioners office, stating that a certified copy of Resolution 150 has been sent on to the Secretary of State for his information. Mayor Baker read a letter from the City of Renton, wherein hest our presence at a meeting to be held February 15, 1962, at which time a light crossing at Monster Road will be discussed. Mayor Baker asked Mr. George Long to attend this meeting. At this time Mayor Baker asked that council stay after the regular meeting adjourn to discuss the River problem. Mr. Tyler from Seattle City Light Company asked for an informal discussion with the council to clarify their relationship with the City of Tukwila. mkt. ;vreltorftiffTtaandellil adjourn, seconded by Mr. Minkler and carried.
