The regular meeting of the Tukwila City Council was called to order by the Mayor
John B. Strander at 8:00 P.M. Councilmen present gore Stan Minkler, A. G. Radford
R.K. Doyle E.W. Ives Jerry Hamilton Richard Bowen and Dill Ali.aent. The minutes
of the April meeting were read and approved as corrected.
The current bills were examined and vouchers signed. Mr. Minkler moved that all bills
approved by the finance ccm:aittee be allowed and warrants drawn for their respective
amounts, seconded by Mr. Radford and carried.

The treasurers report was read and accepted as read.
The water report was read and plaged on file. Mr. Long
permits issued in April.
Mr. Radford reported on the streets, council c'.iscussed
a certian portion of 59th S. it was suggested that Mr.
other property owners in this regard.

Mr. Zepp discussed with council the relocation of the water and sewer utiliti lines
in conjunction with the prcposed highway enterchange. Mr. Hamilton moved that we r
retain Harstad Associates to engineer, prepare, study, plan and construct the re-
locating
of existing water lines on said rights of way. Seconded by ..r. Ives and
carried.
Mr. Hamilton reported on Sanitation
Fire Department report was giv by Bill Aliment. An agreement will be :lade with the
Foremost Dairy, for the use of their storage shed to house the new fire truck.
Mr. Phillips gave the police dept. report. Ir. Bowen reported on the buildings, offices
and so forth.
Mr. et read a letter from the Planning Commission, in regard Abbott Laboratories,
iayo as seated at the council table and discussed this at length with the council.
Mr.-Minkler read a letter from the Planning Conmission, wherein the Planning Commission
accepted Andover Park plat 2 and Andover Park '.Test. IIr. Aliment moved_ that council
accept the Planning Commissions r.ecemmendation, seconded by Mr. Doyle and carried.
Mt. Martin Sangster representing Foster l:liester, requested that a var enee.e be
granted to erect a sign within the Tukwila City limits, plans and diagrams were shown
to the council. This varience to be granted on year to year basis. 'r. Ives moved
that council accept this�varience seconded by Mr. Bowen and carried.
Mr. Doyle moved that Mr. Minkler be the president of the council for the coming year,
seconded by Mr. Radford and carried.
Mr. Hodge discussed the excavating ordinance with council, the ordinance will be
reviewed by Mr. Ives and committee.
It. Minkler moved that an ordinance relating to safety glass in doors of nsw structures
be placed on its first reading, seconded by Mr. Radford and carried. This ordinance
was withdrawn after its first reading for further discussion and review.
The meeting was recessed at 10:20 P.M. to eeconvene Monday May 21, 1962 at 9:00
