HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-08-20 Adjourned MinutesAugust 20, 1962 The recessed meeting of the Tukwila City Council was called to order by the Mayor John B. Strander at 8:00 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, A.G. Radford E.W. Ives, R.K. Doyle, Jerry Hamilton, Richard Bowen and William Aliment. First order of business was the specification of street repair, presented to council by Mr. Long. Mr. Radford moved that council advertise for bids for this repair work,seconded by Mr. Ives and carried. Bids to be opened September 17, 1962. Mr. George Drew, Mr. Frank Horsfall and Mr. Jorgenson, from the school board discussed with council the possibilities of having sewers for the proposed new school, Mr. Reed will work with Mr. Joregenson on this, a report will be given at a later meeting. Mrs. Roy Thompson was interviewed by council in regard to the appointment of City Treasurer, this position being vacated by Mrs. Lois T. Newton. Mr. Doyle moved that council approve Mayor Strander's appointment, seconded by Mr. Minkler and carried. This appointment to start September 1, 1962. Mr. Hamilton read Resolution 155 of the Val Vue Sewer District. Mr. Turner of Seattle City Light read a letter from Mr. John Nelson in regar to the supplemental letter received from Harstad Associates. Mr. Kimball of Puget Sound Power and Light, stated that there statements remain the same. Mr. DeBryan discussed with council the possibility' of Metro going over his road leaving this property with no easement. Council instructed Mayor Strander to discuss this with Metro Officials.
