September 17, 1962
The recessed meeting of the Tukwila City Council was called to order by the Mayor,
John B. Strander at 8:00 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, A.G. Radford,
R.K. Doyle, E.W. Ives, Jerry Hamilton, Richard Bowen and William Aliment.
First order of business was the opening of bids for construction of the new fire �f
hall. Bids received were from Acme Building Co., and laettern Industrial Contracting
After a brief discussion Mr. Bowen moved that .ouncil accept the bid from lestern
Industrial Contracting, seconded by Mr. Doyle and carried. The accepted bid was for
$4,180.00.
A bid for street NENXIMEME repair was open at this time, this being sent in by the r
Deisel Fuel Oils Co. This bid was compared with the street departments estimate.
action on this was tabled until September 20, at 7:30 P.M.
Mr. Aliment read a proposed resolution in regard to Mutual Aid Mr. damilton moved
that Mr. Hodge draw up a resolution in this regard seconded by Mr. Eves and carried.
Mayor Strander stated that Tukwila will be able to pick up about 700 feet of Tidelanyi,
a portion of the Black River Channel which will in the future to used for street.
This will be reviewed by Mr. Kay Reed.
Chief Parker presented to council the specifications for a 1963 police car. Mr. Minkler 9
moved that council advertise for bids on this patrol_ car, seconded by Mr. Aliment and
carried.
The annexation of certian property owned by Mr. Carlson was noseponed until further
study can be made. Mr. Bowen was directed to report to council on this.
Mr. Hodge read a letter sent to Shoreline Construction Company from Harstad Associates,
in regard to their d fl iont i contrac This was discussed at length
with Mr. Wing of Puget Western.
Mr. Minkler moved that 4 bills approved by the finance committee be allowed and warrants
drawn up for their respective amounts, seconded by Mr. Ives and carried.
The meeting was recessed until 7: 30 P.M. Thursday eyeing September 20, 1962
