The recessed meeting of the Tukwila City Council was called to order by the Mayor
John B. Strander at 7 ;30 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, A.G. Radford,
R.K. Doyle, E.W. Ives, Jerry Hamilton, Richard Bowen and William Aliment.
First order of business was the bid for street i.mprovemmmt this bi from
Deisel Fuel Oil Sales was reviewed by council. Mr. Radford moved that council accept
this bid seconded by Mr. Ives and carried.
Resolution 158 relating to Mutual Aid Agreement was read by Mr. Aliment. Mr. Radford
moved that council accept this resolution, seconded by Mr. Doyle and carried.
Mr. Reed from Harstad Associates and Mr. Richard Williams, Representing Puget jestern
discussed Shoreline Construction's responsibilities to the City of Tukwila.
Mr. Hodge, attorney for the City of lukwila made a 5 point proposal in this regard.
The proposal reads as follows:
1. In those areas where Shoreline Construction has previously commenced repair and
agreed to responsibility, the owner, City of Tukwila, elects under section 32 of the
contract to complete the repairs in those areas.
2. Said woktars are to be paid for ollt of the retainage of approximately $3,137.00,
which was previously withheld pending satisfactory completion of paving repairs.

3. The balance of said retainage is to be withheld until the city engineer concludes
that the paving repairs are satisfactorily completed.
4. That is the area in front of the Abhott Laboratories Building where the Engineer
states that Shoreline's resnonsibilitjn for failures is not absolute, and where the
Engineer has further recommended expenditures beyond the contract up to $3,000.0p
and where Morrison Knudsen has already commenced repairs, the repairs are to be made
by a contractor to be chosen by the City Engineer. payments on this work are to be
paid out of the L.I.D.
5.This is not to be eonstrued:...t as a termination of the contract, but solely as an
'election by the owner of its right to complete repair work.
Mr. Hamilton moved that council accept this proposal, seconded by Mr. Aliment and
carried.
There being no further business for discussion Mr. Ives moved that council adjourn
seconded by Mr. Hamilton and carried.
