The recent rework, repairs and other alterations to the floor slab in
the space previously occupied by Kress should be covered by a building
permit.
Since the floor slab is a structural component of the building and all
structural repairs require a permit, drawings showing the location of .the
repairs and the method of replacing slab strength that is lost by the
cutting of rebar should be submitted.
The purpose is to place in the City's records the necessary information
pertaining to the building structure in case of a failure at some future
date.
An engineer, Victor 0 Gray, has submitted drawings that partially show
revisions. The drawings do not show the structural repairs to the access
holes in the floor slab nor the soil bearing at the new slab support
locations.
Please do not schedule any further repairs or revisions until the building
permit is issued.
