AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING SECTION 2.08.010 OF THE TUKWILA
MUNICIPAL CODE TO FIX THE COMPENSATION OF THE MAYOR;
REPEALING ORDINANCE 1723; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it should fix the compensation of the Mayor as part
of Section 2.08.010 of the Tukwila Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to increase the Mayor's salary commensurate with non
represented personnel, which is a 2.88 percent cost of living adjustment (which reflects 90% of the CPI -W);
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Compensation of Mayor. Section 2.08.010 of the Tukwila Municipal Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
2.08.010 Compensation. Pursuant to the provisions of RCW 35A.12.070, the person holding the position
of Mayor shall be compensated at the rate of $21,192 per year commencing January 1, 1996, payable in equal
monthly installments. In addition, subject to any applicable plan restriction, the Mayor shall be eligible to
receive the same or an equivalent benefit package as is given to department heads in the City of Tukwila and
established from time to time by Resolution.
Section 2. Repealer. Ordinance 1723 is hereby repealed.
Section 3. Severability. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance should be held to
be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall
not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance or a summary thereof shall be published in the official
newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after passage and publication as
provided by law.

Ordinance No. /76 amending Section 2.08.010 of the TMC to increase the
Mayor's salary commensurate with non represented personnel which is 2.88 percent
cost of living adjustment (which reflects 90% of the CPI -W); providing for severability;
and establishing an effective date.
The full text of this ordinance will be mailed without charge to anyone who
submits a written request to the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila for a copy of the text.
