AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE 1995 BUDGET
ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1725, INCREASING ESTIMATED
BEGINNING FUND BALANCE AND PROVIDING FOR
UNANTICIPATED EXPENDITURES IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR
POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT OPERATIONS; REDUCING
EXPECTED ENDING FUND BALANCE AND ACC EXPENDITURE;
PROVIDING FOR UNANTICIPATED EXPENDITURES IN THE
ARTERIAL STREET FUND FOR THE SOUTHCENTER
BOULEVARD /GRADY WAY PROJECT AND UNANTICIPATED
GRANT REVENUES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City recognizes that Jail Services and Police /Fire overtime are
necessary to the public safety requirements of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City has additional Beginning Fund Balance available and certain
budget savings in the General Fund to provide for the unanticipated expenditures; and
WHEREAS, grant funding from the State is available to reimburse the City for the
Southcenter Boulevard /Grady Way project unanticipated expenditures; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to make necessary budget transfers to accomodate these
changes;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The following program categories in the 1995 budget, as adopted by
Ordinance No. 1725, are hereby amended to read as follows:

NOTE: Previously the State was going to collect this grant funding and pay contractors
directly.
Section 2. Ordinance No. 1725 is hereby amended by revising the summary of totals of
estimated revenues and appropriations and the aggregate total to reflect the foregoing
increases in revenues and appropriations as set forth in Section 1 of this ordinance.
Section 3. The Finance Director is hereby authorized and instructed to effectuate the
necessary changes in the 1995 budget and to make all necessary and appropriate line item
entries and adjustments in order to reflect the increases to revenues and appropriations as set
forth in this ordinance.
Section 4. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance should be held to
be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or
unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section,
sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance.
Section 5. This ordinance or a summary thereof shall be published in the official
newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after passage
and publication as provided by law.

On /oZ //3' J S the City Council of the City of Tukwila passed
Ordinance No. %7c c amending the 1995 budget, adopted by Ordinance No.
1725, to make necessary budget additions and transfers to accomodate unanticipated
expenditures in the General and Arterial Street Funds, providing for severability, and
establishing an effective date.
The full text of this ordinance will be mailed without charge to anyone who
submits a written request to the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila for a copy of the text.
