HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-01-21 Adjourned MinutesJanuary 21, 196'5 The recessed meeting of the Tukwila City Council was called to order by the Mayor John B. STrander at 8:00 PM. Councilmembers presesnt were Stan Minkler, A.G. Radford E. Ives Jerry Hamilton Richard Bowen and William Aliment. First order of business was the opening of bids for the Street Department truck. Bids were received from Scarff Bowen of Kent $3,312.23 Sam Younker Renton $3,455.64 Lough Motors Seattle $3,199.75 Mr. Aliment moved that the bids be taken under advisement by the Street committee seconded by Mr. Minkler and carried. This to be discussed at the meeting of February 4, 1963 Mr. Bruce Forbes from King County Flood Control presented to Council a complete program as to how the flood control problem could be taken care of in the Valley. Due to the absence of the Flood Control Chairman was taken until the meeting of February 4, 1963. Mayor Strander stated that at the meeting of January 8 in regards to a transit system nothing conclusive was decided on its Transportation duty. On the Police Committee recommendation Mayor transfer the position of Municipal and police clerk probationary period. Mr. Long gave the year end report of building permits issued in 1962. Mr. Hamilton discussed with Countil the sewer project in conjunction with the City of Tukwila. Mr. Hamilton moved that Council authorized Mr. Leed City and Mr. Hodge City Attorney to draw up a resolution of intent in this report, this to be presented to Council on February 4, 1963 seconded by Mr. Minkler and carried. Mayor Strander stated that an informative letter on sewers sent to all water customers and every one that will be directly affected by sewers. Mr. read a letter in regards to Sewer reduction rates for all commercial enterprises in the City of tukwila. Mr. Minkler moved that Council amend Ordinance 341 to conform with the above mentioned letter. Seconded by Mr. Aliment and carried. Mr. discussed this motion with Council this motion shall be put in letter form and sent on to Mr. Mr. Hamilton moved that bids for schedule regarding installation of transformer be advertised with bids to be opened at the meeting of February 18, 1963.
