HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-07-15 Regular MinutesThe regular meeting of the Tukwila City Council was called to order by the Mayor,
John B. Strander at 8:00 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, A.G. Radford,
R.K. Doyle, E.W. Ives, Jerry Hamilton and Bill ailment.
First order of business was a discussion with Mr. Reed, City Engineer, in regard
to the feasibility of the sewer trunk line down Interurban Avenue.
Resolution No. 167 honoring Chief Parker was presented to council at this time.
Mr. Ives moved that council accept this resolution, seconded by Mr. .Minkler and 1
carried.
Mr. Doyle moved that the preliminary reading of Ordinance lo. 384 be approved by
council, seconded by Mr. Bowen and carried.
The minutes of the July 1 meeting were read and approved as read.
Mr. Minkler moved that all bills approved by the finance committee be allowed and
warrants drawn for their respective amounts, seconded by Mr. Ives and carried.

The Treasurer's report was read and approved as read.
The bond for the Treasurer and the Judge were discussed with council.
The proposed Power Contract from Puget Power was discussed with council,
Mr. Hodge, City Attorney will report on this at the meeting of August 5, 1963.
Mr. Hodge was instructed by council to proceed in the suit pending against Red
and White Construction Company, thio in regard to a damaged road in the City.
Mayor Strander stated that the 1964 budget was being prepared at this time.
Mr. Hamilton moved that council approve the business license for M.A. Segale Co.
seconded by Mr. Doyle and carried. The business license for Frank Todd, was
tabled til the meeting of August 5, 1963.
The proposed agreement with Northwest Bell was presented to council. Mr. Doyle
moved that council accept this agreement, seconded by Mr. Minkler and carried.
Mr. Reed discussed the sewer line w3 th council LID No. 7 in regard to the
water line on West Valley Highway was discussed with council, construction
date on this should be mid- August, this to be paid by private owners.
Mr. Hamilton moved that we call for bids in this regard, this to coincide
with the Ordinance, seconded by Mr. Minkier and carried.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:30.
