Strander at 8:00 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan Kinkier, E.W. Ives, Jerry A. Hamilton and Richard A. Bowen. The minutes of the August 5th meeting were read and approved as read. Pr. inkler. moved that all bills approved by the finance committtee be allowed and warrants drawn for their respective amounts, seconded by Mr. Bowen and carried. Mr. Long reported on the progress of the sidewalk being put in for the school, this should be completed by time school opening date. Mr. Diehl, City Engineer, speaking in regard to the bid received on LID 6 in regard to street improvement stated that it was a good bid, altho a little high. Mr. Minkler moved that council hold off on this bid until we find out how much it will cost in regard to the guarantee fund on the assessed portion, seconded by Mr. Ives and carried. The agreement from Puget Power in regard to street lighting was presented to council at this time. Mr. Bowen moved that council accept this agreement, after a brief discussion Mr. t= inkler seconded the above motion and carried. A thank you letter was received by council from the King County Girl `scouts, stating their appreaciation for police protection etc, while they were using the Tukwila Park. This to be placed on file.. Mr. Diehl stated that Harstad Associates received a petition froe property owners along Interurban Avenue, expressing their desire to be a part of the Sewer project. Mr. Hamilton question legal council on the ValVue ;'ewer District "They" ValVue sewer district are counting largely on the ;icken }'eights area for their financing. A.V. Long, Attorney for Mci=icken Heights has set aside the LIP f_r clarification. Mr. Minkler suggested that council, attorney and the Engineer get together and straighten this out. Mr. Hodge stated that Tukwila cannot proceed with sewers, until the ValVue Sewers are all tied in and ready to go. A meeting will be held in this regard at McHiiaken Heights P,on'lay August 26, 1963. Mr. Hamilton moved that council hold an informal meeting in this regard on Tuesday August 27, 1963 at 8:00 P.M. in the City Hall. Pear. Hodge stated that ValVue Sewer District wanted assurance from Tukwila above and beyond the agreement for Tukwila to acquire more land for the lagoon system. Seattle City Light has indicated that they will give a sixty foot taiesement for roadway right of way at 48th Avenue South. The excavatin8 permit for Pacific Propeller and plans were discussed with council. Sufficient 1' ility and insurance must be posted with the City. Mr. Hamilton presented a business license for Real Estate Office at 6406 South 143rd 1 this for Mr. McMullen Mr. Hamilton moved that council accept this Business license; seconded by Mr. Minkler and carried. Mr. Hamilton read a letter received from Mr. Todd's attorney this in regard to a sign on the Todd property. after a brief discussion this matter was tabled til the meeting of September 3, 1963 Mr. Bowen reported on his findings in regard to the buying of gas. Altho two or three Companies were questioned as to their price A call for bids in this regard will be made in the near future. Phillip Marten questioned the feasibilty of having a recreaction area for Tukwila. Mrs. Brew of the Park Board should be contacted in this regard.
