The regular meeting of the Tukwila City Council was called to order by the Mayor,
John B. Strander at 8:00 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, A.G. Radford,
R.K. Doyle, E.W. Ives Jerry A. Hamilton, Richard A. Bowen and Bill Aliment.
Mr. Gardner, Mr. Anderson and Er. Baker our MUM Councilmen elect were also seated
at the council table.
First order of business was the reading of the minutes of the March 2, 1964 meeting,
the minutes were approved as read. After a brief discussion Mr. Minkler moved that
all bills approved by the finance committee be allowed and warrants drawn for their
respective amounts, seconded by Mr. Ives and carried. They are as follows:

Mayor Strander introduced Dwight Gardner, Robert Anderson and C.T. Baker as the
new councilman.
Mr. Radford reported to council in regard to the Lindsey property being used for a
business. Mr. Radford stated that he has talked with the people involved and they
will try and clean up, a complete report will be made at the meeting of April 6,
1964.
Mr. Ives reported on the Street Vacation, that being 43rd Place south. April 20, IL
1964 at 8:00 P.M. has been set for a Public Hearing in this regard.
Mr. Hamilton moved that Ordinance 396 relating to Health and Sanitation
on its 1st reading seconded by Mr. Aliment and carried.
Mr. Hamilton moved that Ordinance 396 be placed on its second reading,
Mr. Bowen and carried. Mr. Hamilton moved that Ordinance 396 be placed
and final passage, seconded by Mr. T e and carried.

Mr. Doyle moved that Ordinance 397 relating to Rat Control be placed on it lst read

be placed on its 2nd reading, seconded by Mr. Doyle and carried. Mr. Hamilton moved
that Ordinance 397 be placed on its third and final passage seconded by Mr. Bowen
and carried.
Mr. Hamilton moved that Ordinance 398 relating to the Bond Ordinance for LTD 7
be placed on its first reading,seconded by Mr. Bowen and carried. Mr. Hamilton moved
that Ordinance 398 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Mr. Ives and carried.'
Mr. Bowen moved that Ordinance 398 be placed on its third and final passage,seconded
by Mr. Hamilton and carried.
Mr. Hodge spoke to council in regard to Water District 75 encroching on the City
customers.
It was noted at this time that O.R. Alia have started on the project of Water Re-
location as of March 16, 1964.
Mr. Bowen reported to council on the annexation of certain property namely the Hammer
property) Mr. Bowen read a letter to council wherein a request for annexation was
made, this was accompanied by the legal discription. Mr. Bowen moved that council
accept the intent for annexation, seconded by Mr. Minkler and carried. The clerk
was instructed to write a letter to the School District also to the King County Comm-
issioners to request a waivier of the Review Board. Yr. Bowen moved that cou-:cil ?pprove
the date of April 20, 1964 for the Public Hearing in this regard, seconded by Mr. Ives and
carried. Mr. Bowen moved that the area to be annexed should nssume their part of City
indebtness, by Mr. Ives and carried.
Mr. Zepp stated that a Bond has been received from Blvd. Excavating, this in regard to
damage to our City Streets.
Mr. Reed spoke to council in alittgY regard to property damage to the Merkle property,
this in conjunction with the installation of sewer line.
Mr. Hodge reported on the Mettler damage claim. The Engineers estimate of damage is
$10.00. It was suggested that the City acquire an easement for the flume that is now
on Mettler property. Mr. Reed will contact Mr. Mettler.
Mr. Bob Carroll of the Kent Planning Commission spoke to council in regard to the portion
of West Valley Road that borders Kent and Tukwila. Mayor Strander read several excerpts
of meetin.' held in this regard
There being no further ousiness for discussion the meeting was adjourned.

Mr. Minkler stated that Council has discussed this problem thoroughly, 6ne
solution to this problem is that Kent Deannex theirpprLion and Tukwila pay
the complete cost. If this is not feasible the cost of the proposed lights
should be shared jointly.
Mr. Carroll requested that a letter in this regard be written to Mr. Glen Sherwood
Traffic Engineer for the City of Kent.
