Staff agreed to send a poll out to determine a new date for the May meeting, which will also be the retreat. VI Miscellaneous At the request of the City Council, the Commission reviewed the Boards and Commissions policy to provide recommendations on ensuring equity in the recruitment and nomination process. The Commission recommended the following changes/additions to the policy: • Change policy to ensure a consistent interview process for qualified candidates. • Include Boards and Commissions recruitment materials and application in the City’s Language Access Plan. • Expand on the demographics detail to be clear that the City desires to have Boards and Commission members that represent the entire Tukwila community. Once Tukwila’s popula7on surpasses 25,000 the City must allow two units per lot and fourplexes if within a quarter mile of major transporta7on stop or if one or more units is affordable. SB 5466 Expands Transit Oriented Development Second reading @ House Mandates addi7onal density around high-capacity transit with affordability components; restricts a municipality’s ability to regulate parking in transit hubs. HB 1337 Mandates minimum of two ADUs per residen5al lot Passed both Chambers Mandates at least two accessory dwelling units per residen7al lots, preempts parking requirements and various development regula7ons. SB 5235 Mandates minimum of two ADUs per residen5al lot Rules @ House Mandates at least two accessory dwelling units per residen7al lot over 4,500 sq W, bans owner occupancy provisions, and prohibits perking requirements near transit without a finding of need.
