HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-07-20 Regular MinutesThe regular meeting of the Tukwila City Council was called to John B. Strander at 8:00 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan T)wight R. Gardner, Richard A. Bowen, C.T. Baker and Robert B. The first order of busihess was the reading of the minutes of meeting, the minutes were read and approved as read. Mr. Minkler moved that all bills approved by the finance commi warrants drawn for their respective amounts, seconded by Mr. PAYROLL EXPENSE FUNR WARRANT 235 247 CURRENT EXPENSE FUND It If £3500 8510 STREET EXPENSE FUND n Ir 6492 6496 WATER EXPENSE FUND 6084 6091 SEWER EXPENSE FUND It II 206- WATER SEWER CONSTRUCTION FUND 1963 51 Plans for a new business in the Andover Park area were presented to council, this for the Brunswick Company. Mr. Minkler read a letter from the Planning Commission expressing their opinions of the proposed building. Mr. Zepp gave some pertinent details relating to this building. Mr. Wing of Tuget Western also intered into the discussion on this building. Mr. Bowen that council approve the first stage of this proposed building, seconded by Mr. Baker and carried. Mr. Minkler speaking for the Planning Commission stated that a reduction of lot size within the Sewer District was approved by the Com7 fission. Mr. Minkler moved that a public hearing in this regard to be held August 17, 1964 be approved by council, seconded by Mr. Bowen and carried. This to be published and posted in the area Mr. Anderson presented a developer Extention Plan, whereby any request for hook up to the present sewer system will follow a standard procedure. Mr. Anderson moved that council approve this plan, subject to the attorney's approval, seconded by Mr. Bowen and carried. Mr. Diehl of Harstad Associates reported on a bid opening relating to L.I. 8. This was held in Harstad Associates Office at 2.00P.M. Monday July 20, 1964. The apparent low bidder for this construction appears to be the Frank Coluccio Construction Company with a bid for 32,382.48. Other bids received in this regard were from Shoreline Construction, South end Concrete, J.& M. Mechanical Contractors and from Lents Inc. After a brief discussion with council Mr. Minkler moved that the contract be awarded to Coluccio Construction, this after the required easements have been secured. seconded bzyMr. Anderson and carried. Mr. Diehl discussed the completion of L.I.D. 6 with council this in regard to the road construction of M.A. Segale. Mr. Diehl recommended that a date be set for a public hearing for the final assessment roll, that being August 17, 1964. Mr. Radford moved that council accept ti is contract as complete, seconded by Mr. Minkler and carried. Mr. Anderson moved that the date of August 17, 1964 be approved for the public hearing in this regard, seconded by Mr. Bowan and carried. July 20, 1964 order by the Mayor, rinkler, A.G. Chief Boze will use this car, being re- imbursed at 10 cents per mile. Mr. Minkler moved that council approve this use of a second car,seconded by Mr. Bowen and serried. A letter received andxamted from Mr. Iamb was read and noted in regard for a request to use the easement as a driveway or access road) therefore a hydrant will be moved. Mr. Minkler moved that council approve the city's moving this hydrant, seconder by Mr. Anderson and carried Mr. Kimball, Mr. Carter, Mr. Baker, Mr. Wing and Mr. Wil Tams from Puget properties and Puget Power were present., at this time Mayor Strander MME publicly thanked them for their cooperation in cleaning out the right of way. Mayor Strander read a press release presented by Puget Sound Power and Light, wherein it was stated that the power rates ''or the Renton Tukwila area will be reduced s This reduction of 5% will be in effect in the near future. Mr. Anderson noted that the informal meeting with the King County Health Dept. will be held June 29, 1964 at 8: 00. P.M. in the council NWOVen. CHAMBERS ATTEST: Meeting was adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
