Ongoing Business Commissioner Reports (open discussion) Determine which art piece to be sent to Olympia (Rep. Berquist): Print Emily Barronian will be loaned for the duration of his time in office. o The hope of building this relationship is that more funding for the arts can be secured, specifically the $1.5 million shortfall for the remodel of the Foster High School Performing Arts Center. Thanipa brought a guest to observe the commission. The student Josue Villalobos, a student at Aviation High School, is a possible candidate to fill the student commissioner position. Staff Reports Page 4 Discuss with commissioners about the possibility of tightening up the dates for the strategic plan community engagement sessions per advice from arts consultant, Una McAlinden. o Michael in consultation with the consultant will determine dates September through early November. Grand piano donation to school district. 15. New Business Commissioners TAC Grants: Ideas and Process o Pat will draw up a draft process and email it to commissioners. Review non-student requirement for Utility Art Box Program (Pinky) o Revisit this requirement next year with the goal of creating one opening for a student artist. Waste Management Tukwila Earth Day Art Contest results (Pinky) Staff Michael will send the summer events calendar to commissioners. 16.
