inspection creates a new 180 day period, provided the inspection shows progress.
-or-
2) Submit a written request for permit extension to the Permit Center at least seven(7) days before it is due to expire.
Address your extension request to the Building Official and state your reason(s) for the need to extend your permit.

E. Install piping to conserve boding space.
F. Group piping whenever practical at cannon elevations
G. Install piping to allow for expansion and contraction without stressing pipe, lints, or connected equipment
H. Provide clearance for access to vanes and fittings.
I Refer to manufacturer's Installation instructions for complete installation
J Slope shall be 1" per 50' span for gas bubbles to naturally nse up to cryovent
K Flexible pipe minimum bend radius per inner flex size: 1' inner pipe with 16" bend radius, 1 W inner pipe with 20'
bend radius, 2' inner pipe with 20' bend radius.
L All torque values for tightening nuts shall be per manufacturers' values
M. All Bayonet piping sizes and installations must be per manufacturer's guideli nes
N All pipes in axial direction must be Bose to allow slight pipe m overrents. Every 5" support must be a roller.
O. Trap End: Skgle &op use points require trap end.
P All safety bulletins from all manufacturersto be followed are the installers must have Installed this system with ten
years of experience with manufacturer's training programs.
3.03 APPLICATION
A Install hangers and supports at intervals of 6 to B feet and all large in direction poins Use split damp hanger
type supports with appropriate isolation. Piping shall not be able to sway. Refer to specification 20 05 29 Supports
and Sleeves.
B Point of use drops shall be attached to architectural pipe column or attached to wall with strut charnel. Coordinete
spacing requirements of electrical raceway.
3.04 TESTING - DRY NITROGEN
A. Alter installation of all conponerits, the installer shall pressurize the entire system with dry nitrogen gas to
maximize operating pressure. Presetre stall not exceed 1.25 times vacuum insulated pressure rating. There should
be no pressure decrease in a four host period. If the pressure drops in a four hour period, bubble test entire system,
darting at supply tank until the leaks located and repaired. Repeat until the pressure told test is successful.
3.04 TESTING - LIQUID NITROGEN
A. Alter dry nitrogen lest the manufacturer shall introduce liquid nitrogen into the piping system from a supply tank.
The closest point of use valve shall be opened first, unit liquid nitrogen begins to issue. Repeat sequence for all
points of use through to far point.
B. The system shall be visually inspected for condernsatkxh on vacuum insulated pipe. The manufacturer shall make
adjustr ants as needed to ehmirate abnormal frost formation or condensation
C It is recommended that connection of the system to a liquid cryogen bulk tank or supply be performed by
customer's liquid cryogen supplier. Starting Up a Cryogenic System When inklating flow into a VJP system it is
necessary to gradually cool down the pipe from ambient temperature to cryogenic temperature.
D. Procedure: Note: If Field Joints are installed, the Owner or the Owner's Representative may specify Inspection
requirements. Be sure to verify Inspections are complete prior to proceeding.
1. Visually ireped the VJP system to ensure all connections are joined and the installation meets the
requirererts listed previously. This includes but is not limited to:
• ❑ All bayonet clamps are installed and tightened.
• 0 Piping clamps and hangers are correctly installed and tightened
• 0 Safely relief valves have been installed and are in the proper locations. Verify liquid can not
be trapped anywhere in the system.
2. Next charge the system with cryogen to look for leaks:
• ❑ Make sure the use point valves and valves in portions you do not want to test are closed.
You will need to remove any valve lookout devices before opening.
• D Slowly crack open the cryogen supply valve on the bulk storage tank and allow the
pressure to equalize between the system and the tank. Note On systems with a gas vent the
pressure will not equalize until the line is full
• L' Inspect the system once the bulk tank valve has been cracked open
3.Orbe the system has been pressurized, cool down the system and check for system operation.
• On systems with a gas vent, gas will expel from the vent unfit system is cooled.
• Go to the farthest end point open the use point valve, and let the system fill up with cryogen
to cool the system down.
• Continue to watch for leaks, which can indicate an assembly problem, and frost on insulated
connectors that could indicate an MpropeM assembled o-ring.
