PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila recognizes our community's strength and beauty is
built on the diversity of people that call our city home and we appreciate the
important contributions of our LGBTQIA+ neighbors and friends; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila is committed being an inclusive city where every
individual and family belongs, with a strong commitment to equal rights for all
residents and guests; and
WHEREAS, Pride is celebrated in the month of June as a way to celebrate and
recognize our diverse LGBTQIA+ community, and recommit our collective work to
ensure respect and equality throughout the city and broader society;
NOW THEREFORE, I, Allan Ekberg, Mayor of the City of Tukwila, do hereby proclaim
the month of June as:
Pride Month
in the City of Tukwila and encourage all community residents to join me in
recognizing equal rights for all.
