The regular meeting of the Tukwila City Council was called to order by the Mayor,
John B. Strander at 8:00 P.M. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler, A.G. Radford,
E.W. Ives, Richard A. Bowen, Dwight R. Gardner, C.T. Baker and Robert B. Anderson
First order of business was the reading of the minutes of the rebruary 15th meeting,
the minutes were approved as read. Mr. Minkler moved that all bills approved by the
finance committee be allowed and warrants drawn for their respective amounts, seconded
by Mr. Radford and carried. They are as follows:

The Water report was read and placed on file.
Mr. Zepp reported on the Building permit issued in the month of February.
A deed was received from Puget Western, this in regard to a one foot strip of
property on Slade Way. An Ordinance will be drawn up in this regard.
Mr. Anderson reported for the Sanitation Committee. Ordinance 426 relating to
special sewer connections was discussed at this time.
Mr. Anderson moved that Ordinance 426 be placed on its second reading, seconded
by Mr. Ives and carried.
Mr. Anderson moved that Ordinance 426 be placed on its third and final reading
for passage, seconded by Mr. Ives and carried.
Mr. Bowen reporting for the Fire Department stated that the new alarm system was
in full swing and working very satisfactorily The city having only 4 alarms in
the past month.
Chief Boze gave a brief report on the activities in the police dept. for the month.
Mr. Gardner speaking for the Flood Control Committee moved that council sign the i
document whereby the City will join the Green River Watershed Program Public Laws
566. This motion seconded by Mr. Baker and carried.
Mr. Bowen reported for the annexation committee. A work meeting will be held on
Monday, March 8, 1965 with the Riverton Heights Commerical Club
Mr. Ives reported for the Park Department. Mr. Ives suggested that a barricade of
some type be placed across the entrance to the Park in the off season.
Mr. Ives reporting for the License Committee stated that a license application has
been received for a barber shop, after brief discussion Mr. Ives moved that this
license be allowed, seconded by Mr. Minkler and carried.
Mr. Minkler read a letter regardin We Pii Co ssions findings an a recent
request for a rezone. This reques gas eni d the Planning Commission.
Mr. Minkler stated that a public hearing regarding the rezoning of the newly annexed
property will be held March 18, 1965 at the Tukwila City Hall.

Mayor Strander with council approval appointed Mr. Gardner as the representative
for this Committee.

Mr. Hawley request that a public hearing be held regarding the rezoning of the
property from R -1 to R -4 this being on 59th Avenue S.
Mr. Minkler moved that March 15th be set as the day for the public hearing, seconded
by Mr. Ives and carried.
Mr. Bowen reported that the Regional Planning Commission meeting will hold its next
meeting in the Tukwila Council chamber;, the date set for that meeting is March 25,
at 8:00 P.M.
Mrs Mohr questioned council as to what if anything could be done to preserve her
property, this along Pamela Drive.

In answer to the question of Mrs. Flink about repairing the road in the area of 180th
Mr. Zepp suggested that an LID by the people would solve their problems.
