HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-12-20 Regular MinutesThe regular meeting of the Tukwila City Council was called to order by the Mayor, John B. Strander at 8:00 P.M. Councilman present were Stan Minkler, A.G. Radford, E.V. Ives, Dwight R. Gardner, C.T. Baker and Robert B. Anderson. First order of business was the reading of the minutes of the December 6th meeting, the minutes were approved as read XXXXXXXXXXKXXXXXXXKXXXXXX Mr. Zepp presented the plans to council of the Chicago Pneumatic building whereby Mayor Strander moved that council section of the Architectural Control Board study these plans. It was brought out at t' time that a 40 foot drive will be built to accomadate two lots to the rear of where the Chidago Pneumatic building will be built It was moved by Pr. Minkler and seconded by Mr. Anderson that council approve this roadway subject' to the 10 footdditidYia easemn, making this a 50 foot easement. therefore council section of the architectural control Board was closed. Resolution 186 was nresented to council at this time, this in conjunction with transferring funds to cover necessary expenditures. Mr. Minkler moved that council approve this resolution seconded by Mr. Ives and carried. Mr. Minkler moved that council call for bids for a 1966 police car, the opening of bidsto be on the 17th of January 1966, this seconded by Mr. Baker and carried. it was brought out at this time that a 60 day delivery date should be written up in the specifications. It was suggested that perhaps the dodge now being used City transportion be up for auction, this at a later date. Mr. Radford reported on a meeting attended this in conjunction with the State Highway plans for the coming years. that with Boein{ Traffic, and other an estinated5,000 more cars will travel the West Valley Road, in the coming year, but no highway expansion is planned for this area til 1972. Mr. Boze reported on a meeting he attended with Mr. Zepp, this has to do with the closeure of the old Longares road, for repair, this road will be closed til late April or May An easement pretaining to LID 8 was presented to council at this time, this from Seattle City Light, Mr. Anderson moved that council accept this easement agreement, having the attorney draw up the proper Ordinance, seconded by Mr. Radford and carried. Mr. Gardner stated that a resolution will be forthcoming from the Flood Control whereby our intentions will be noted, the whole of Tukwila is in the area. Mr. Mettler presented a letter to council in regard to the roadway in the area of 137th Street. Mayor Strander stated that the moving of dirt in the area is completed and the debris will be cleaned up as of the 21st of Mr. Hawley questioned council as to the intent of a recent letter sent out to property owners instructing them to hook up to the sanitary sewer system There being no further business for discussion the meeting was adjourned at 9:25 ATTEST: LILLIAN BALK, CLERK December 20, 1965 �tiN MAYOR e nd fig es+"4 .7‘7,41it 51 i2
