The regular meeting of the Tukwila City council was called to order by the
Mayor, John B. Strander at g:00P.N. Councilmen present were Stan Minkler,
A.G. Radford, P:.4,. Ives, Richard A. Bowen, Dwight R. Gardner, C.T. Baker and
Robert B. Anderson.
First order of business was the reading of the minutes of the March 21st meet-
ing the minutes were approved as read.
Mr. Minkler moved that all bills approved by :,he finance committee le allowed
with warrants drawn for their respective amounts. 3 bills for LeRoy's Lichfield
are being held up for study, this motion seconded by hr. Ives motion carried.
Mr. Bowen reported for the Annexation Committee. Yr. Baker reported for the
Public Buildings and Grounds committee. T'r. Ives stated that every tying is set
for the upcoming season.
Mr. Minkler speaking for the Planning Commission stated that a letter received
from the Planning Commission stated their recemendations in regard to certian
rezone request.
1. A request received from Mezistrano F._ Associates. to rezone property from R -1
to R -4 was approved by the planning Commission. Mr. Anderson moved that a public
hearing be held in this regard, seconded by Mr. bowen and carried. The date for
Public hearing being April 25, 1966
2. The Varacalli request for rezone from R -1 to R was also approved bT7 the
Planning Commission.
3. The Williams recuest for rezone of certian property from R -1 to R -4 was denied
by the Planning. Mr. Anderson moved that this come for public hearing, seconded
by Mr. Radford and carried, all of the proposed Public Hearing to be held on
April 25, 1966 at 81:00 P.T.
Mr. Minkler stated that a rezone request from Vr. ':bite has been postponed.
Mr. Ives reported for the School committee.
Mr. Ives reported for the license committee. An application received for painting
and decorating was tabled for further study, checking this out With the Fire
Department.
Mr. Gardner reported for retro.
Mr. Fujiki of Hill Ingman presented a letter of certification to council in
regard to L.T.n. 11.
Mr. Anderson presented two petitions to council Initiative 226 will be in
favor of bringing a certian percent of the tax dollar hack into the cities.
Initiative 11 229 deals with the abolishing of the old Blue Law.
Mr. Mettler questioned council as to the old Hammer house, this was referred to
the Fire i)epartrnent. Mr. Brewer asked about the various easements that have
been granted. Mr. Anderson stated that he will check these out for him.
Tars. Flink questioned council about 1810th street, it is still in need of repair.

Mr. Zepp reported on the building permits issued in the past month.
Mr. Radford speaking for the street committee discussed with council a contract
whereby the city will participate with other citiesin the valleyon a traffic study.
Tukwila's portion being L700.00 payable over a period of two years. Mr. Radford
moved that council approve this contract, seconded by 7 `r. Bowen and carried.
Mr. Minkler reported for the water department.
Mr. Anderson speaking for the sanitation committee stated that the LIB for sewer
construction on Interurban Avenue has been delayed due to a legal point. This to
be resolved by the meeting of April 18th. A feasibilty study is being Trade of
mosquito control at the lagoon system.
Mr. Bowen stated that we were still waiting word from the Tashinfrton State survey
rating Bureau in regard to a lower rate for the Fire Department.
Mr. Minkler reported for the t olice Committee.
Mr. Gardner reported for the Flood Control Committee. A Flood Control meeting
will be held in council chamber in Tukwila on April 20, 1966 at 10 :00 4.T'.
The Tukwila Land useMap will define land for Multiple Family use
and is described in the following Legal description.

Yr. Hawley questioned council as to the disposition of the Post Office
situation. Mayor Strander stated that he trill meet with Congressman
Brock Adams in the near future to discuss the Tukwila problem.
On a question from the audience in regard to a new City Hall Councilman
Baker stated that a comprehensive plan is under study.
