The regular meeting of the Tukwila City Council was called to order
by the Iayor, John B. 9 at 8:00 F.. Councilmen present were Stan `in<ler,
F.1 Ives, Pichard A. Bowen, Dwight R. Gardner, TTelen "elsen any Robert B. Anderson.
The first order of business wast� reading of the tiinutes of i,he lenierber
19th meeting, the minutes were approved as read.
Nr. T'inkler moved that all the bills approved be the r'irance ro•-rnittee
be allowed with warrants drawn for their respective amounts, seconded 17 'r. 2'owen
and carried. The current bills approved for payment are as follows:

The next order of business was a Public fear ng in regard to the �e-
zoning of tertian property from R -3 to R.B.H. Lots 1,2,3,4, 5 6 Stella_ A.
Tyler's Addition. Mr. Binkler read a letter from the ilanning Cornrni scion whereby
the Planning Commission recommended that this rezone request be accepted. '`r.
Fred Callum spoke in favor of the rezone. After a bri f discussion bar co r r.
:Anderson moved that this rezone request be approved, with an ordnance being drafted
to cover this property, this motion seconded by r. Howen and carried.
A Public Bearing in regard to changin the zoning from -1 to 7 .H.
this on the Baker property was opened for public discussion at this time.
This proposed zoning change was also approved the Planning Commission, i there
was no one present, to speak for or against this -•ozone recnest Fr. ;;owen moved
that Council approved this request, seconded by 1;r. Anderson, motion carried. An
ordinance will be drafted to cover this request.

A Public Hearing for a Street Vacation was next on the agenda. 'r.
readta letter f rom the Planning Commission whereby the Commdssion rec:rnmended that
this street vacation be granted. After a brief discuseion by council Anderson moved
that this request for street vacation be approvers by council, with an ordinance to be
drafted, this seconded by Mr. Ives, motion carried.
Mr. Zepp reported on the Building permits issued for the month of `"eptember.
Mayor Strander spoke on a meeting that was a attended by r. Padford and himself in
regard to Highway building in the Industrial portion of the "•tate.
Mr. i:inkler speaking for the 1 ater Committee stated that we are in the
process of updating our water system. Our Engineers are preearing a cost sheet on
this, we are at present replacing a water line on south 1L4th.
Mr. Anderson speaking for the Sanitation. Committee stated that I
should be ready for the final assessment roll by the end of nctober.
Ordinance u 462 was presented to council at this time, this in regard to
the Metro Charge. Mr. Anderson 'roved that Ordinance f` 462 be placed on its first
reading, seconded by Nr. Bowen and carried. Fr. Anderson proved that ''rd,inance 462
be placed on its second reading, seconded by '`.r. Gardner and carried. .nderson
moved that Ordinance r 462 be placed on its third and final read rig for adoption
seconded by Mr. Ives and carried.
Mr. Minkler speaking for the Police Committee read a letter to council
in regard to the Police Department, commending them on their services to the City
and the various business's
Mr. Bowen speaking for the Fire rerartment spoke to council about the
rate reduction, stating that we will be working to reduce t}is gate even more.
Speaking about the 1965 Fire prevention code, it is recommended that paid firemen

would be the answer for Tukwila. Mr. Bowen presented a resolution: naning the
week of October 9 -15 as Fire Prevention eek. This seconded by 1 r. Tves and carried.
Miss Nelsen speaking for public building ,c Grounds committee stated that
inquiries as to the purchase of the Todd property hive be= n made. At the present
time this property is not for sale.

G=tr. Ives reported for the Parks Beautification Committee.
Mr. Minkler speaking for the Planning Commission stated that the flanning Commission
has approved a street vacation request (133rd st) therefore Mr. Minkler moves' that
November 1.4.7 1966 be set for the date of Public Hearing in this regard, this seconded
by Mr. Anderson and carried. A public hearing for the revised Land Use Flan was also
discussed at this time. Mr. Minkler moved that the date of November 21, 1966 be set
at the date for Public Hearing in this regard, this motion seconded by ":r. Tves and
carried.
Mayor Strander asked council approval on his appointment of Mr. L.F. (Pill)
Crostick to the Planning Commission, lr. Bowen „roved that council approve this appoint
went by the Mayor. J"
A Preliminary Flat in regard to "outhcenter Tndu.strial Park was discussed by
Council at this time.
Yr. Ives ??eported for the License committee. and for the "chool Coy °ittee.
Mr. Gardner speaking for the Flood Control skated that there will h- a
meeting in 'Renton on October 19, 1966. A letter will be sent to the developers in
in the area in regard to a Drainage Permit. ''=r. Gardner reported for "etro.
Ordinance ,F' 463 was presented to council at this time, this in regard to the
1967 budget. Mr. Minkler moved that Ordinance 463 be placed on its first reac't:g
seconded by Mr. Ives and carried with Hr. Anderson voting "no
Mr. Bowen moved that Ordinance ;f 463 be placed on its secorde reading, seconded by
Mr. Gardner and carried with Mr. Anderson voting "no
Mr. Ives moved that Ordinance 463 be placed on its final reading for adoption, seconded
by Mr. Bowen and carried with Mr. Anderson voting "no
Mr. Harrison of the Planning Commission spoke to council about the Few
proposed Comprehensive_ Plan.
