At 1253 hours on Thursday November 16, 2017 we were dispatched to a gas leak. Eight
units were assigned to this incident. Thirteen personnel responded. We arrived on scene at
1259 hours and cleared at 1338 hours. The incident occurred at 7200 FUN CENTER Way,
Tukwila in District 0967. The local station is 52. The general description of this property
is hotel/motel, commercial. The primary tasks) performed at the scene by responding
personnel was investigation. Automatic aid was received on this incident.
Alarm number 1705140 has been assigned to this incident.
E52, E51, E53, HM14, L54 A13 B51 were dispatched to a natural gas odor inside the
building at the Comfort Suites hotel at 7200 Fun Center Way. E51 was first to arrive to
find a large hotel, nothing visible. We met up with the rp at the west end of the building
per the short report to find Ms. Jeong. She told us there was an odor of natural gas in the
west stairwell. The gas meter was just around the corner of there, no meter spinning was
noted, but there was the sound of gas flowing. I initiated Comfort command. I assigned
HM14 to take readings int he west stair tower. B51 arrived, did a drive around 360,
confirmed my assignments and assumed command. I returned to E51 crew. E51 found
there was roof access in the west stairs and Ms. Jeong went to get the key to open that
door. We went up to the RA and checked the HVAC units and found very low readings by
HM14. We left the door open as B51 assigned L54 to assist with setting up a PPV fan in
the stair tower. E52 was assigned to pull a precautionary line offE51. PSE arrived and did
his own sniffing around and found nothing noteworthy. HM14 also checked the boiler
room and laundry room. No source was found the the cause of the odor and after shutting
down the PPV, it did not build back up again. We advised Ms. Jeong to callus back if it
were to return. PSE was going to stay and monitor the area and keep looking into
possibilities. No loss. KB
