Mayor, John B. Strander at S :Ov P.M. Councilmen present were ')tan Hnkler,
Ives, Richard A. Bowen, 2wi ,ht R. Gardner, Helen 1elsen Robert B. r,n,i:.rson.
First order of business was the reading of the minutes of the CJctober 3rd
meeting, the minutes were approved as read.
!r. Ninkler moved .,rat all the bills approved by the finance: committee be
allowed with warrants drawn for their respective amounts, seconded condec' b; r. Tves
and carried.
Mr. Ken Fujiki of Hill k: Tngman spoke to cow cil. in reard to L.T.U. 11
which is very near completion. mr. Fujiki stated that L.T.D. 12 is in working
order, waiting final approval.
Mayor Strander read a letter to council from Mr. ..G. (och. The High -tine
Hat area will construction in the ne future on sewers.
Mr. Hodge presented an Ordinance in reard to a certain ;'treet Vacation
Mr. Bowen moved that Ordinance 44 be placed on ite first re-,ding, seconded
by Mr. Anderson and carried. Yr. enderson mcrfed that, r)rdina,nce 14L be ?dared
on its second reading, seconded by "r. Tves and carried. mr. I nder son moved r0at.
Ordinance 454 be placed on its third and finrj reading for adoption, seconded
Ives and carried.
Ordinance 45 was presented to council at this time, this in reference
to the rezoning of property from C -31 to R,. ?'.H. '"r. Berson oved that Ordinance
4 be placed on its first reading, seconded by ''r. Bowen and carried. "•`r. Tves
moved that Ordinance i 46,5 be placed on its second reading, seconded by "r. yinkler
and carried. Mr. Anderson p,oved that Ordinance 145 be placed on its third and
final reading for adoption, seconded by Fr. Gardner and carried.
An Ordinance rezoning property from R -3 to R '`.H. was next to come before
the council. Mr. Anderson moved that Ordinance be placed on its f=irst read
ing seconded by Mr. Ives and carried. Mr. Gardner moved that Grdinance 40 be
placed on its second reading, seconded by Mr. Tves and carried. Mr. nderson moved
that Ordinance rt L 6 be placed on its third and final reading, seconded by ='r. Bowen
and carried.
Mr. Anderson moves that council approve resolution 192 regarding a
Developers Agreement between the City of Tu ;wi_la and r'r:get l estern, Tnc.
The president has proclamed October. 23 -29 as Cleaner Air Week, UMIAK
Mitattgiftfilt 1'r. Bowen stated that the galley Pegional F ianninp: Commission
will have an all day conference November 10, 1966 at the Renton. inn.
Mr. Gardner stated that a Flood Control meeting will be held in Kent on the 1F'th
of October. Mayor Strander stated a Historial item was found in the walls on a home
that was being torn down, this article dealt with devastion of Tukwila di'e to the
increase in rates on the Tnterurban Railway into >eattle. Anyone ,rtes ed in
this article may read it at the City Hall Office. c'np:es of this rticie will
be available later. Tt was noted at this time tlat the 20th, of ^etcher would be the
last day for action on the flurbin property.
Mr. Faul Punning representing the Fire Department rr.- a prepared statement
to council, in regard to the Fire department share of the 1967 budget. discussion
followed. A meeting was set for Wednesday October 19th at which time this matter
will be further discussed.
Mrs. Flink questioned council as to the width of 1 "'•t;th street, whereby Nr.
Zepp stated that a 60 foot street has beee established with records in the
County City Building. Mr. Hodge was instructed to look into this and get a copy
of this record, for clarification.
Their being no further busincss for discussion the meeting was adjourned.
