RE: rack storage in existing warehouse
Dear Mr. Barger,

Date: 1/17/2019
You are proposing to install new racking within the warehouse space. The racking will have storage to
approximately twelve feet above the finished floor. Your storage commodity consists of cartoned paper
goods, cartoned plastic cups, cartoned food snacks packaged in foil and bottled water and all are non -
encapsulated. Per NFPA 13 this is categorized as miscellaneous storage and a Class IV Commodity.
The existing fire sprinkler system at the roof consists of a wet system with Large orifice sprinklers of
standard temperature range. The system is hydraulically designed to a WSRB design density of .39/5,600.
Per NFPA 13, chapter 13, table 13.2.1 a Class IV commodity stored to twelve feet, non -encapsulated, eight -
foot aisles, without in -rack sprinklers requires a sprinkler design of Extra Hazard 1.
The existing fire sprinkler design of .39/5,600 is above the current NFPA requirement for this type and
arrangement of storage. No further sprinkler modifications are required at this time.
Should there be a need to change the type or arrangement of storage in the future please feel free to give us a
call.
Thank You,
Archer Construction

RE: Correction Letter # 1
DEVELOPMENT Permit Application Number D19-0031
FLYING FOODS GROUP - 1083 ANDOVER PARK E
Dear RANDAL BARGER,
Allan Ekberg, Mayor
Jack Pace, Director
This letter is to inform you of corrections that must be addressed before your development permit can be approved. All
correction requests from each department must be addressed at the same time and reflected on your drawings. I have
enclosed comments from the following departments:
BUILDING DEPARTMENT: Allen Johannessen at 206-433-7163 if you have questions regarding these comments.
• (GENERAL INFORMATION NOTE)
PLAN SUBMITTALS: (Min. size 1 1x17 to a preferably maximum size of 24x36; all sheets shall be the same
size; larger sizes may be negotiable. "New revised" plan sheets shall be the same size sheets as those previously
submitted.)
"STAMP AND SIGNATURES" (If applicable) For Engineers: "Every page of a plan set must contain the
seal/stamp, signature of the licensee(s) who prepared or who had direct supervision over the preparation of the
work, and date of signature. Specifications that are prepared by or under the direct supervision of a licensee shall
contain the seal/stamp, signature of the licensee and the date of signature. If the "specifications" prepared by a
licensee are a portion of a bound specification document that contains specifications other than that of an
engineering or land surveying nature, the licensee need only seal/stamp that portion or portions of the documents
for which the licensee is responsible." It shall not be required to have each page of "specifications" (calculations) to
be stamped and signed; Front page only will be sufficient (WAC 196-23-010 & 196-23-020). Architects: "date"
only not required (WAC 308-12-081).
(BUILDING REVIEW NOTES)
1. Please note, is a duplicate of the building permit ** D19-0014 review. I had the discussion at the permit counter
with Mr. Barger where I proposed possibly turning the racks to a different configuration to resolve the issues listed
below as the current layout proposed will not be acceptable to meet codes for life safety requirements.
** The layout for the storage racks as shown shall require an alternate layout. Aisles shown create dead-end
corridors that exceed 50 feet (sprinkled building). Exiting the warehouse through the electrical room shall not be
allowed. Both exits out of the electric room shall provide exiting from that room to an exit path leading to exit
discharge. A swinging egress door shall be required leading out of each fenced storage rack space. Doors in any
position shall not reduce the required width of the means of egress by more than one-half or 7 inches fully opened.
Revise the rack layout to show compliance with egress from those areas. (IBC 1005.7.1, 1020.4#1, 1010.1.10.3-
WSA)
Note: Contingent on response to these corrections, further plan review may request for additional corrections.
63nn .4nutheenter Rnulevard Suite # 100 • Tukwila Washington 98188 • Phone 206-431-3670 • Fax 206-431-3665
Please address the comments above in an itemized format with applicable revised plans, specifications, and/or other
documentation. The City requires that two (2) sets of revised plan pages, specifications and/or other documentation be
resubmitted with the appropriate revision block.
In order to better expedite your resubmittal, a 'Revision Submittal Sheet' must accompany every resubmittal. I have
enclosed one for your convenience. Corrections/revisions must be made in person and will not be accepted through the mail
or -by a messenger -service.
