(IFC Chapter 10) 2: Exits and exit access doors shall be marked by an approved exit sign readily visible from any direction of egress travel. Access to exits shall be marked by readily visible exit signs in cases where the exit or the path of egress travel is not immediately visible to the occupants. Exit sign placement shall be such that no point in an exit access corridor is more than 100 feet (30,480 mm) or the listed viewing distance for the sign, whichever is less, from the nearest visible exit sign. (IFC 1013.1) 3: Every exit sign and directional exit sign shall have plainly legible letters not less than 6 inches (152 mm) high with the principal strokes of the letters not less than 0.75 inch (19.1 mm) wide. To ensure continued illumination for a duration of not less than 90 minutes in case of primary power loss, the sign illumination means shall be connected to an emergency power system provided from storage batteries, unit equipment or on -site generator. (IFC 1013.6.3) 5: Emergency lighting facilities shall be arranged to provide initial illumination that is at least an average of 1 foot-candle (11 lux) and a minimum at any point of 0.1 foot-candle (1 lux) measured along the path of egress at floor level. Illumination levels shall be permitted to decline to 0.6 foot-candle (6 lux) average and a minimum at any point of 0.06 foot-candle (0.6 lux) at the end of the emergency lighting time duration. The Northwest door leading to the train tracks is not intended to be an Exit as it does not discharge into a public way 2. The North door by the large overhead door by the Varity Pack Line is a ground level Exit door that exits to a public way. 3. The three North doors in the middle of the new warehouse are not exit doors. These are fire department access doors. 4. Additional Exit signs will be added to at 80-foot intervals along the new warehouse egress path. These illuminated exit signs will be attached to both sides of the column and be positioned 15 feet above the ground. These exit signs will be visible from the aisle, verification in the field. 5. The current Southwest gate will be removed by the sugar tank to allow unfettered access to a public way. Until such time that a new gate with a panic bar can be installed in this location. (see exit site plan) 6. Stair details provide on attached sheet for the exterior exit of the Glycol/Ammonia Room will be expanded. This exit will also be covered under the Glycol/Ammonia Room Permit. 7. The Glycol/Ammonia Room has two exits. One is a man door by the roll up door and the other is an exit out of the building.
