Per the International Building Code, International Mechanical Code, Uniform Plumbing Code and/or the National Electric Code, every permit issued by the Building Division under the provisions of these codes shall expire by limitation and become null and void if the building or work authorized by such permit has not begun within 180 days from the issuance date of such permit, or if the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the work has begun for a period of 180 days. Your permit will expire on 10/21/2021. Based on the above, you are hereby advised to: 1) Login to the City of Tukwila's Online Portal https://tukw-egov.aspgov.com/BP/index.html to schedule for the next or final inspection. Each inspection creates a new 180 day period, provided the inspection shows progress. -or- 2) Submit a written request for permit extension to the Permit Center at least seven(7) days before it is due to expire. I am asking for an extension to this permit for the following reasons: 1. Fencing has been erected to keep staff safe during construction. This has been reviewed and approved when Can Line one was approved and opened to operate. Staff at site felt this was therefore already approved. 2. Fencing is an on going moving target as work in the plant progresses. 3. There has been a hold up of work at the plant due to the pandemic issues going on to keep the plant staff safe. These issues are being resolved but construction will not be completed nor inspections called for before the expiration date. I believe these are adequate to allow for the extension of the permits.
