This permit shall become null and void if the work is not commenced within 180 days for the date of issuance, or if
the work is suspended or abandoned for a period of 180 days from the last inspection.
PERMIT CONDITIONS:
1: No changes shall be made to applicable plans and specifications unless prior approval is obtained from the
Tukwila Building Division.
2: All permits, inspection records and applicable plans shall be maintained at the job and available to the
plumbing inspector.
3: All plumbing and gas piping systems shall be installed in compliance with the Uniform Plumbing Code and
the Fuel Gas Code.
4: No portion of any plumbing system or gas piping shall be concealed until inspected and approved.
5: All plumbing and gas piping systems shall be tested and approved as required by the Plumbing Code and
Fuel Gas Code. Tests shall be conducted in the presence of the Plumbing Inspector. It shall be the duty of
the holder of the permit to make sure that the work will stand the test prescribed before giving notification
that the work is ready for inspection.
6: No water, soil, or waste pipe shall be installed or permitted outside of a building or in an exterior wall
unless, adequate provision is made to protect such pipe from freezing. All hot and cold water pipes
installed outside the conditioned space shall be insulated to minimum R-3.
7: Plastic and copper piping running through framing members to within one (1) inch of the exposed framing
shall be protected by steel nail plates not less than 18 gauge.
8: Piping through concrete or masonry walls shall not be subject to any load from building construction. No
plumbing piping shall be directly embedded in concrete or masonry.
9: All pipes penetrating floor/ceiling assemblies and fire -resistance rated walls or partitions shall be protected
in accordance with the requirements of the building code.
10: Piping in the ground shall be laid on a firm bed for its entire length. Trenches shall be backfilled in thin
layers to twelve inches above the top of the piping with clean earth, which shall not contain stones,
boulders, cinderfill, frozen earth, or construction debris.
11: The issuance of a permit or approval of plans and specifications shall not be construed to be a permit far, or
an approval of, any violation of any of the provisions of the Plumbing Code or Fuel Gas Code or any other
ordinance of the jurisdiction.
12: The applicant agrees that he or she will hire a licensed plumber to perform the work outlined in this permit.
13: All new plumbing fixtures installed in new construction and all remodeling involving replacement of
plumbing fixtures in all residential, hotel, motel, school, industrial, commercial use or other occupancies
that use significant quantities of water shall comply with Washington States Water Efficiency ad
Conservation Standards in accordance with RCW 19.27.170 and the 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code Section
402 of Washington State Amendments

office on January 15, 2020. It has been determined that the City of Tukwila Building Department does not need to
extend the permit at this time as an inspection was requested on January 24, 2020 and performed on January 24,
2020. Based on the inspector's report, this inspection automatically extends the permit 180 days. The new
expiration date is July 25, 2020.

I am in receipt of letters from Bill Rambo, permit tech, that the above permits will be
expiring soon. 1 am asking for an extension to these permits for the following reasons:
1. There are ongoing owner revisions due to construction inadequacies that need to
be resolved and correction comments from Fire will impact the permits. Glycol
Room has had a revision resubmittal and has not been re approved.
2. The Can Line 2 and Water Main inspection was dropped by Shasta due to a
personnel change recently impacting call for inspections.
3. There are sequences of projects that need to be completed prior to having final
inspections occur due to limitations on space in the facility ( ie build this first and
then build the next which takes longer to complete). This has impacted the Can
Line 2 and Water Main Revision construction and therefore there was nothing to
inspect. Can Line 2 can have inspections called for now.
4. There are on going City concerns that are being addressed delaying construction
and inspections. This impacts the Glycol Room from Fire.
5. There are some cost implications of the construction which impact cash flow for
construction.
I believe these are adequate to allow for the extension of the permits.

In reviewing our current application files, it appears that your permit applied for on 8/12/2019, has not been issued by the City of
Tukwila Permit Center. Per the International Building Code, International Mechanical Code, Uniform Plumbing Code and/or
National Electrical Code every permit application not issued within 180 days from the date of application shall expire and become
null and void. Currently your application has a status of APPROVED and is due to expire on 2/13/2020.
If you still plan to pursue your project, you are hereby advised to do one of the following:
1) If the plan review is complete for the project and your application is approved, you may pick up the application before
the date of expiration. At the time of permit issuance the expiration date will automatically be extended 180 days.

2) If the plan review is not completed submit a written request for application extension (7) seven days in advance of the
expiration date. Address your extension request to the Building Official and state your reason(s) for the need to extend your
application.
The Building Code does allow the Building Official to approve one extension of up to 90 days. If it is determined that your extension
request is granted, you will be notified by mail.
In the event that we do not receive your written request for extension or request is denied, your permit application will expire and
your project will require a new permit application, plans and specifications, and associated fees.

5. PIPING PENETRATIONS OF FIRE RATED WALLS OR FLOORS SHALL BE SLEEVED AND FIRE STOPPED WITH LISTED MATERIALS SO AS TO MAINTAIN THE
INTEGRITY AND RATING OF THE FLOOR OR WALL.
6. PROVIDE DIELECTRIC CONNECTIONS BETWEEN DISSIMILAR METALS. IF THE ELECTRICAL IS GROUNDED TO THE PIPE SYSTEM THEN ALL DIELECTRIC
