Subject: Agreement for Kent Valley website financial contribution
As a center of aerospace innovation, with hundreds of established and emerging
companies in Kent Valley communities, I appreciate your agreement and continued
support of kgritypil A, our centralized economic development/business
recruitment website for our region.
While yielding new business inquiries as we had anticipated, your City's willingness to
partner in the site's maintenance and Search Engine Optimization is greatly
appreciated.
By working together, we not only strengthen our competitive position, but our
marketing efforts and dollars are maximized.
TERM: This agreement is for the website refresh the city is undertaking with a new
service provider, Golden Shovel. Golden Shovel will update our site with new
technology tools and provide marketing services, SEO services, copy writing, social
media support, and success story development. The updated site will continue
utilization of Guru, (provided by GIS Web Tech services) for real estate data. With
contributions from the participating jurisdictions, the City of Kent will be solely
responsible for ongoing content and maintenance of the website.
DELIVERABLES: Website components include:
• Information about Kent Valley communities' amenities, demographic data, and
specialized workforce
• A commercial real estate directory, powered by Guru will continue to showcase
available Kent Valley opportunities
• A business directory, utilizing business license data, to illustrate the high
number of innovative companies, and their specialized talent base
• Site optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
• SEO plugin and setup with specified keywords
• The Golden Shovel service program will include search engine optimization,
technical website maintenance and content updates.

• Google Analytics installation and monitoring of site traffic to inform content
updates.
FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION: The City of Kent is fronting most of the costs to
maintain the site and provide Search Engine Optimization services, at a cost of
approximately $24,000. In support of this effort, the City of Tukwila will contribute as
follows, and will be provided to the City of Kent by October 30, 2023:
