HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-03-25 Special MinutesThe special meeting of the Tukwila City Council was called to order by Mayor Minkler at 5:00 P.M. Council members present were: R. Bowen, D. Gardner, R. Anderson, H. Nelsen, T. Forsythe, L. E. Crostick and L. Popejoy. The meeting was called for a Public Hearing (Resolution 199) regarding the formation of an L. I. D. for the improvement of South 178th. Mayor Minkler opened the public hearing. MrS Madeline Mink, 18059 Southcenter Parkway, raised various questions regarding the proposed L. I. D. and her assessment. Mrs. Akiko Shimatau (Akiko Mikami) 16813 Southcenter Parkway, asked what amount is the maximum the project can go over the estimated cost. Mrs. Roy Martin, 5665 South 178th, questioned the fairness of the residents in the area being assessed when it is for an arterial street. Mr. Roy Martin, 5665 South 178th, questioned the grade of the road and if traffic problems would arise. Mrs. Paul Joientz, 5564 South 178th, asked how far up the road the grading will start. Mr. Dale Riv &ithd, 1046 Logan Street, attorney for the Herman Schoenbachlers, presented a written protest stating the Shoenbachler property is not specially benefited by the improvement. Also present were Masaakic-Shimstsu and Mr. Pashe who represented Seattle City Light. After further discussion Mr. Bowen made a motion the Public Hearing be closed.
