HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 0185 - Animal Control (Repealed) ORDINANCE NO 135 Repealed by Ord 188 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO DOG KENNELS; PROVIDING FOR THE REGU- LATION AND LICENSING THEREOF AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TQWN COUNCIL OF THE TOli OF TUB oILA, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Kennel defined.. That for the purpose of this or- dinance a Dog Kennel is defined as a building, enclosure or por- tion of any premises in or at which dogs are boarded or kept or kept for hire or in or at which dogs are kept or maintained by any person other than the owner thereof or in or at which four or more dogs, over the age of three nontEs are kept or maintained. SECTION 2. It shall be unlawful or any person, firm or corpor- ation to operate or maintain a dog ennel within the corporate limits of the Town of Tukwila witholi first securing a license therefor from the Town Council ofd Town. The license fee shall be TWO THOUSAND DOLLAR (:2000.00 This fee shall be in addition to the license fee pres ribeu)Y�.ereafter for each dog kept in such kennel. 'C_ SECTION 3. It shall be equired that each person, firm or cor- poration desiring to operate or maintain a dog kennel within the Town limits of the Town of Tukwila shall present to the Town Council the signat r of the occupants of the dwellings within a radius of six hun ed (600) feet of the proposed location of the dog kenne ho are willing to allow the operation or main tainance of s .dog kennel in proposed location. No license will be issued with t these signatures. SECTI9? The annual license fee for each dog kept in a ennel shall be ONE DOLLAR (x,1.00) per year, the number being b sed on the highest number of dogs kept during the year. This fe is payable at the office of the Town Clerk on or before Dec- ember 31st. of each year. A monthly record of the number of dogs kept shall be required, said record must be at all times open to the inspection of the Town Council or its duly appointed represent- ative. SECTION 6. Each kennel shall be at all times open to the in- spection of the King County Department of Health and the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila or its duly appointed representative. SECTION7.. Any person, firm or corporation violating any pro- vision of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than TWENTY -FIVE DOLLARS (25.00) nor more than THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS (4300.00). SECTION 8. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, signing and posting as required by law.
