Civil Service Commission Meeting Minutes
Thursday, October 19, 2023
The regular monthly meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held on September 21, 2023, at 5:00pm, at
6300 Southcenter Blvd, Tukwila, WA, Duwamish Conference Room.
The following were in attendance:
• Commissioners: Ron Johnston, Tom Morris, Kathleen Wilson
• Members: Eric Lund, Eric Dreyer, TC Croone, Kari Sand, Joy Maldonado

Call to order by Commissioner Johnston: 5:05 pm
II. Approval of Agenda — Commission unanimously approved agenda
III. Approval of Minutes, September 21, 2023
IV. Business Items
a. Report of Police Staffing by Deputy Chief of Police Lund
b. Eligibility lists — Continued discussion from September 2023 Civil Service meeting.
i. Confirmation on when Eligibility lists are signed outside of monthly Civil Service
Commission Meetings, per Civil Service Rules. Rule III The Secretary and Chief
Examiner. Section 2 Duties. The Secretary and Chief Examiner shall keep the records of
the Commission, preserve all reports made to it, superintend and keep a record of all
examinations held under its discretion, and perform other such duties as the
Commission may prescribe (i.e.. Prepare eligibility lists and arrange for certification of
the list by the Commission). Certification may occur outside of the monthly meeting if
the need should arise, with signature of two or more Commissioners.
