Much discussion followed with Mr. ygard answering questions asked by
Council members.

A special meeting of the Tukwila City Council was called to order by
Mayor Stan D. Minkler at 8 :00 P. M. This meeting was called for the
purpose of considering authorizing Mayor Minkler to sign a supplemental
agreement on the Green River Flood Control project.
Council members present were: Richard A. Bowen, Dwight R. Gardner,
Robert B. Anderson, Helen B. Nelsen, Thomas M. Forsythe, Le. E. Crosti:ck
and Joseph R. Johanson.
Mr. Jerry Nygard of the Seattle District Office of the Corp of Engineers
wes present and explained the flood control studies for the Green and
Duwamish River valleys in detail. Studies are currently some what
curtailed due to lack of funds. Many letters were sent from King County
to Congress over the past 5 to 6 years requesting assistance in obtaining
funds for the study of the lower Green Duwamish River valley. He
estimated it would be approximately 2i years before a study is available
on the lower river.
Mr. Gardner made a motion the Council approve the increase in the capacity
of the Green River pumping plant. Motion seconded by Mr. Bowen and
carried.
Mr. Bowen made a motion the special meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded
by Mr. Anderson. The meeting adjourned at 9 :15 P. M.
