SUBJECT: Designating Tukwila Representatives to Cascade Water Alliance
ISSUE
The city needs to update the designation of representatives to the Cascade Water Alliance.
BACKGROUND
The Tukwila City Council established membership with the Cascade Water Alliance on May 3,
1999, through Resolution No. 1417. Per Cascade Water Alliance bylaws, the Board consists of
one individual representative from each Member Agency and a designated alternative
representative. The representatives must be an elected official of the Member Agency and must
be appointed to serve on the Board by the legislative body of the member agency.
Previous designations provided the name of the Mayor and the Councilmember serving as the
designated representative and the alternate representative. The attached resolution designates
the Mayor as the representative to and a Councilmember as the first alternate, which will be
identified per the Council's regional membership designation process each year.
RECOMMENDATION
The Council is being asked to approve the resolution and consider this item at the January 8,
2024, Special meeting.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, UPDATING THE CITY'S
DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVES TO SERVE ON THE
CASCADE WATER ALLIANCE, AND REPEALING
RESOLUTION NO. 1661
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tukwila established membership with the
Cascade Water Alliance through Resolution No. 1417, and designated representatives to
the Alliance by Resolution No. 1661; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to update the designation of representatives to the
Cascade Water Alliance;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor of the City of Tukwila will serve as the designated
representative to the Cascade Water Alliance and a Councilmember is designated as the
first alternate, per the Council's regional membership designation process each year.
Section 2. A copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to the Cascade Water
Alliance, 11400 SE 8th Street, #440, Bellevue, Washington 98004.
Section 3. Resolution No. 1661, passed April 7, 2008, is hereby repealed.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at
a Special Meeting thereof this day of January, 2024.
