Attention: Mr, Harry Schneider
Greetings, Mr„ Schneider
Earth Solutions NW, LLC (ESNW) is pleased to pr nt this geotechnical to support y
project. Based on the results of our investigation, construction of the townh e
development is feasible fir a geotechnical stan Our study indicates the site is underlain
by areas of shallow fill, weathered $rocK, and post -glacial infill deposits
Based , our findings, the propo t nhome structures may be const, ,cted on ventional
continuous and spread footing foundations bearing on competent native soil or new structural till
placed on corn tent native soil, Competent native soil suitable for sup rt of foundation
nts will k ,ely be encountered beginning at depths of about two to four feet below the
existing ground surface, Where loose or unsuitable •it c itions are exposed at foundation
subgrade elevations, compaction of sods to the specifications of structural fill or overexcavation
and replacement with suitable structural fill will be necessary.
Due to the prese ce of uncontrolled 11,11, it is our reco mendat, that existing site fill soil be,
reworked either through overexcavating and recompacting in place or stripping and repurposing
as structural fill els ere onsite. Relic topsoil horizons underlying fill will also to be
removed,
In our opinion, native soils wilt exhibit a very low infiltration potential due to the appreciable fines
content and generally dense to very dense in-situ condition encountered. Additionally, the
presence of a potential landslide hazard directly east of the site will likely restrict use of infiltration
on site, As such, native soils, are considered infeasible for infiltration des' s, from a geotechnical
standpoint.
Perti t technical recommendations are prow d in this study. We appreciate the
opportunity to be of service to you on this project, If you have any questions regarding the content
of this geotechnical engin ing study, please call„
Sincerely,
EARTH SOLUTIONS NW, LLC
