HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-03-22 Special MinutesA special meeting of the Tukwila City Council was called to order by Mayor Stan D. Minkler at 8:10 p.m. Council members present were: R. A. Bowen, D. R. Gardner, J. R. Johanson, P. F. Dunning, A. G. Radford and J. D. Sterling. Councilman Hill was not in attendance. Mayor Minkler explained the purpose of the special meeting was to consider a petition for change in zoning classification on Block 28, Interurban Addition to Seattle submitted by Frank Todd. Mr. Hodge, City Attorney explained there had been an error in the legal description pub- lished in the Notice of Public Hearing advertising this meeting. Mr. Todd had requested a change in zone classification from R -1 to R -4 on the West 125 feet of Block 28, Inter- urban Addition to Seattle and from R-1 to C -1 on the remainder of the property. The Notice of Public Hearing was from R -1 to R -4 on the West 125 feet of said property and from R-1 to C -1 on the East 125 feet. Since the property is wider than 250 feet at some points, this would leave a R-1 strip up the middle of the property. Since the intent of Mr. Todd's petition was to cover the entire piece of property it was decided to hold the Public Hearing on April 12th at 8:00 p.m. and republish the Notice of Hearing with the correct legal description. It was pointed out that there was a small point of land included in the petition for rezone that did not belong to Mr. Todd. Since one of the conditions imposed on the re- zone was the execution of a Property Use and Development Agreement by the owners of the property, Mr. Todd was requested to obtain Mr. Desmone's signature on the rezone peti- tion, or to get a written statement from Mr. Desmone stating he was in concurrance with the rezone petition. This was deemed necessary since Mr. Desmone would be required to sign the P.U.D. Agreement. Mr. Todd stated if Mr. Desmone did not concur in this matter, he would delete that small point of land from the petition. There being no further discussion, Mr. Bowen made a motion the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Mr. Johanson and carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m. ATTEST: .41 City Clerk Mayor March 22, 1971
