.AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 41.12.100 of Ordinance
No. 345 as amended by Ordinance No. 365.
The City Council of the City of Tukwila do ordain
as follows:
Section 41.12.100 of Ordinance No. 345 as amended by
Ordinance No. 365 is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 41.121.100 Filling of Vacancies- Probationary.
Whenever a position in the classified service becomes
vacant, the appointing power if it desires to fill the
vacancy, shall make requisition upon the commission
for the names and addresses of persons eligible for
appointment thereto. The commission shall certify the
names of the three persons highest on the eligible
list for the class to which the vacant position has
been allocated, who is willing to accept employment.
The appointment power shall forth -with appoint one
person from the list of three to such vacant position.
No appointment, employment or promotion in any position
in the classified service shall be deemed complete
until after the expiration of a period of six months
probationary service. During said probationary period
the appointing power may terminate the employment
of the person certified, or if during the performance
test thus afforded, upon observation or consideration
of the performance of duty, the appointing power deems
him unfit or unsatisfactory for service in the
department, it may terminate the employment, whereupon
the appointing power shall request of the commission
that they certify the names of the three persons
highest on the eligible list for appointment to the
vacancy thus occuring.
