Mayor McLeod called the Regular Meeting of the Tukwila City Council to order at 7�00p.m. and led tht
2udience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Council ember Quinn stated "The City of Tukwila is located on the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish
people. We acknowledge their continuing: connections to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to
their elders past, present and emerging."
ROLL CALL
Andy Youn, City Clerk, called the rolll of the Council. Present at the meeting were Councilmembers
De'' ean Quinn (on-site), Mohamed Abdi (on-site), Tosh Sharp (on-site), Armen Papyan (on-site), Jlovita
McConnell) (on-site), Dennis Martinez (on-site).

1Joe Duffile requested the Council make aiddonal opplortuinities to engage with the pubiliic. He
emphasized the need for School Resource Officers and urged the Council to discontinue
reconsidering marijuana retail.
2Greg Sherlock commented on campaign cobons received by elected officials and
referenced his ongoing noise complaint with the Sabey Data Center,

The Councilmembers offered comments regarding funding, capital priorities, and types of GIS data.
REPORTS
a. Mayor
Mayor McLeod reported Poke Officer Robert Mosley was recently swom in.
b. City Council
Couincilmember Quinn thanked the Council, for excusing him from last week's Council meeting.
Council President Abdi attended the Somalli Health Board's annual health fair at the Sullivan Center.
Couincilmember P,apyan shared Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Southside
Leadership Conference on July 19, 2024 for emerging professionals. On July 17, 2024, Sound Transit will
be holding an open house at the Tuikwila Community Center on the proposed Boeing Access Road,
station.
Councilmember MMcConnell chaired the Puget Sound Fire Citizens" Advisory Planning Committee,, and
participated in an Equity and Social Justice Commission meeting, and a free CPR class hosted by Puget
Sound Fire.
CouincilmemberMartiiniez reported on the July 8, 2024 Planning and Community Development Committee
meeting, and attended a reception through the Renton Chamber of Commerce to meet gubernatorial
candidates. He noted some residents have shared concerns reglardlingl fireworks in the City.

Marty Wine,, City Administrator, referenced the CA (City Administrator) Report and 2024 2n,d Quarter Work
Plan update,

Couincilmember Sharp spoke on, public comments made earlier tonight and the importance of listening to
all constituents as elected, officials,
Council,member P,apyan indicated he would like to have further discussion at the next Council, meeting
regarding additional opportunities for the Council to engage with, the community.
Councilmember Martiniershared Tukwila Pool, will be holding Cardboard Boat Races on July 20, 2024
from 11:30 a.m. — 3.-00 p.m..
EXECUTIVE SESSION — Pending Litigation — Pursuant to RCW 42.30.1 1 0(l)(i). (15 minutes)
Mayor McLeod announced the Council will now go into an Executive Session until 9:21 p.m. (for 15
minutes) to discuss:
Potential Litigation — Pursuant to RCW 42.30.1 10(l)(1).
The total) amount of time will be no more than 15 minutes, and no diecisionswiN be made during the
Executive Session. No action will be required in the Open, Meeting after the Executive Session has
concluded.
Should the Executive Session need to be extendIed, the Council will be retuming to open sessioini, at'91-21
p.m, to announce the extension and the new time they w0l adjourn the extended Executive Session,
Following, the Executive Session and meeting adjournment, the, Council will be entering into closed
session in the Hazelnut Conference Room to discuss Collective Bargaining Strategy, pursuant to RCW
