Join us for an Emergency Preparedness Planning
Workshop
Thursday, September 19
6:30 to 8:30pm
at the Tukwila Community Center
Join us at the Tukwila Community Center on September 19
from 6:30pm to 8:30pm for a FREE Emergency
Preparedness Planning Workshop. At this workshop, we'll
discuss the critical elements your emergency plan needs
to keep you and your household safe during a disaster.
Topics include:
• Emergency Communications Plan — learn where
you can go to get emergency information AND
make a plan for how you'll communicate with your
loved ones.
• Tips for all Circumstances — Do you have a
disability? Share your home with pets? Have small
children? Learn preparedness and planning tips for
all the circumstances that make your household
unique.
• Build -a -Kit - We'll discuss the items you should
have in a grab-n-go kit as well as a shelter -in -place
kit.

Materials, including a fillable, bound booklet, are provided
for FREE to attendees. Attendees should come prepared to
complete the workbook while during the workshop.

Recology Bulky Item Collection Reminder
A reminder — once each year, residential Recology customers can order a no -cost
collection of up to four non -appliance bulky items, plus extra trash and smaller
items (up to two cubic yards; a cubic yard is 3' x 3' x 3'.) Pickup will be during your
normal collection day, but you must call Recology at 206-944-3900 or email
Tukwila@Recology.com in advance to schedule your date.
Examples of bulky items include, but aren't limited to, mattresses, box springs,
sofas, tables and chairs.
If you've already had your no -cost bulky item pickup for 2024, or if you have
appliances to dispose of, you can still call to make an appointment and arrange for
pickup. However, fees will apply. Refrigerated appliances cost $51.68 per item, non -
refrigerated appliances cost $25.83 per item, and items such as sofas, chairs,
mattresses, and box springs cost $41.48 per item.

Tukwila Village Farmers Market is open from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons at
the Sullivan Center at Tukwila Village Plaza ( 4350 Tukwila International Blvd,
TukwilA ). The 2024 season runs through October 30.
The market accepts SNAP/EBT; shop with your EBT card to double your funds for
produce with SNAP Market Match!
