LICENSE DENIAL. CARRIED.
Mayor Todd read a letter from the Department of
Housing and Urban Development approving an
application for a water and sewer facilities grant
in sum of $100,000. (In aid of Lower Foster LID)"

A letter from Lehay A. Bowen of Commercial and
Industrial Real Estate was read by Councilman
Johanson, offering for sale, to the City of Tukwila
property commonly known as Foremost Dairy property,
in sum of $85,000. MOVED BY HILL, SECONDED BY
TRAYNOR, THAT THIS OFFER BE REFERRED TO THE PARK
BOARD TO STUDY FOR A FUTURE PARK SITE. CARRIED.
Mayor Todd called the recessed meeting of the
Tukwila City Council to order.
Mayor Todd called the Council meeting back to
order at 8:45 pm with all Councilmen present as
previously listed.

Mayor Todd called a recess with the meeting of the
City Council,to be continued on June 6, 1972, at
8:00 pm in the Council Chambers.
GARDNER, HILL, JOHANSON, STERLING STEVENS, TRAYNOR,
AND CRAIN.
Mayor Todd resubmitted his appointments of
Dan Saul, Frank Zepp and Norman Seethoff to the
Planning Commission, for Council concurrance.
MOVED BY HILL, SECONDED BY STEVENS TO CONCUR WITH
THE MAYORS APPOINTMENTS. Opposing votes brought
roll call vote 3 ayes: Hill, Stevens, Crain 4 Nos:
Gardner, Johanson, Sterling, Traynor. MOTION
FAILED.
MOVED BY STEVENS, SECONDED BY HILL, THAT PROPOSED
ORDINANCE BE READ IN ITS ENTIRETY. CARRIED.
Attorney Parker read Ordinance amending Ord. 242
by lowering the number of Planning Commission
members from 12 to 9. Question on the motion
brought lengthy discussion and it was decided to
RECESS the meeting. 8:30 pm.
Acting upon the motion, it was MOVED BY HILL,
SECONDED BY STEVENS, TO ADOPT THE PROPOSED
ORDINANCE AS READ. Opposing votes brought a roll
call vote 1 aye: Hill, 5 Nos: Gardner, Johanson,
Sterling, Traynor, Crain 1 Abstain: Stevens.

MOVED BY HILL, SECONDED BY STEVENS TO CONCUR
IN THE MAYOR AND CITY ATTORNEYS OPINION OF
3 VACANCIES ON THE PLANNING COMMISSION. CARRIED.
Mayor Todd called a recess of the Council meeting
so that a joint meeting of the Planning Commission
and City Council (ACC) could act on urgent
matters before the Planning Commission.
Mayor Todd called the Tukwila City Council
recessed meeting back to order at 11:20 pm
with all Councilmen present as previously
listed.
See minutes attached.
All items as herein made record thru the joint
session of the Planning Commission and Council
were jointly acted upon and passed.

Minutes of Joint ACC Meeting, 6 June
Mayor Todd turned over the City Council meeting to Mr.' Al'
Harrison, Chairman of the Planning Commission. Chairman
Harrison called to order the Joint Architectural Control
Committee consisting.of the City Council and Planning
Commission. Planning Commission members present were:
Mr. Sneva, Mr. Link, Mr. Mettler and Mrs. Harris.
Items for review were discussed as follows:
Item #1 Standard Service Station
,,After discussion of proposed project, Mr. Traynor moved,
Mrs. Harris seconded, and the motion carried to approve the
project under the following conditions:

PLANNING DEPARTMENT
i :1. Rear Yard Lighting That no more than one (1) pole
be erected, no-more than 22 feet in height, with no
more than two (2) mercury —vapor lights. Lights to
be no more than 4.00 watts each, lens —type rectangular
unit with concealed light source.
Advertising Advertising for credit cards shall be
accomplished with decals on windows.
Access That future access from proposed bank facility
and surrounding properties be provided.
Merchandise Display No merchandise shall be displayed
in any manner outside the building.
Landscaping All landscaping, screen planting and
signing shall be as shown per landscaping plans sub—
mitted. All landscaping is to be maintained.
Item #2 JAFCO Distribution Center and Retail Outlet
Motion by Mr. Crain„seconded by Mrs. Harris and carried to
approve JAFCO plans subject to following conditions:
1. That detailed landscaping and signing plans be submitted
for review and approval at,.a later date. This is to be
done prior to issuance of occupancy permit.
