L.Co. 2.00 August Thies Supplies 1.45 August Thies Salary 30.00 Tukwila, Wash. August 3, 1933 The regular monthly meeting of the Town Council was held in the Town Hall on the above date. The meeting was called to order WiMayor J. P. Walkup at 8:00 P.Y. The councilmen present were B. E. Baker, E. F. Green, J. R. Naylor and 8. J. Storey. The minutes of the last regular meeting were read by the clerk and on motion were approved by the council. At this time the rules were suspended and the council pro- ceeded to fill vacancy in its membership caused by the resignation of Councilman Thies. Mr. Eli Thompson was placed in nomination. There being no further nominations Mr. Thompson received the unani- mous vote of the'Council and was declared elected. The Mayor then administered the oath of office and Mr. Thompson was declared duly qualified and took his seat as in the Council. The following bills were then read and referred to the Fin- ance Committee. After a short recess for examination the Committee reported all bills favorable and on motion the clerk was ordered to draw warrants for the respective amounts. $134.03 1 57.97 The report of the Water Supt. was read and on motion was aooepted and placed on file. The report of the Treasurer was then read and on motion was aooepted and ordered placed on file. The request of S. Et Stevens for building permit was granted and the clerk ordered to issue same. 'Leasers Westly and Golamith then addressed the Council is re- gard to acquiring county property for Park purposes. On motion the Council declared in favor of the project. The Mayor then named the Welfare Committee to take the matter up. The Street Committee on Blankenship's petition after examina- tion of working they considered timbering unsafe and suggested that Petitioner be asked to give bond in the sum of $50.00 to protect Town from damages. The Clerk was instructed to draw up preliminary budget for 33 -34. Clerk was instructed to deduct pay of 4 lights for month of July also to take up the matter of new contract at reductions. The Street Supt. was instructed to repair side walk on Main Street A committee was appointed to confer with Shorts Denny in regard to past and future action on delinquent assessments report- ed that the attorney advised the Treasurer to pay back to Mr. Van Hysen the $9,.61, paid by him for assessment on the Stewart property and on his contract for purchase be assigned to the Treasurer. On Motion the Treasurer was instructed to confer with Shorts Denny in regard to drawing up transfer of Sale Contract. On Motion Council adjourned at 9:15 P.M. Approved Mayor Clerk
