MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Haggerton called the Special Tukwila City Council Meeting to order at 9:13 p.m. directly following
the Committee of the Whole meeting.
ROLL CALL
Melissa Hart, Deputy City Clerk, called the roll of the Council. Present were Councilmembers Joe Duffie,
Dennis Robertson, Verna Seal, Allan Ekberg, Kathy Hougardy, De'Sean Quinn and Kate Kruller.
CITY OFFICIALS
Jim Haggerton, Mayor; David Cline, City Administrator; Rick Still, Parks and Recreation Director; Peggy
McCarthy, Interim Finance Director; Kimberly Matej, Council Analyst; Melissa Hart, Deputy City Clerk.
APPOINTMENTS
a. Confirm the appointment of Finance Director.
Mayor Haggerton announced that he recommends appointing Peggy McCarthy as the Finance Director,
effective April 1, 2012.
MOVED BY DUFFIE, SECONDED BY ROBERTSON TO CONFIRM THE APPOINTMENT OF PEGGY
MCCARTHY TO THE POSITION OF FINANCE DIRECTOR.
Mayor Haggerton explained the process to select a new Finance Director was extensive, and he reviewed
that process with the Council.
"MOTION CARRIED 7 -0.
Ms. McCarthy explained she is honored to be in the position of Finance Director for the City of Tukwila
and looks forward to serving the City in this capacity.
The Councilmembers congratulated Ms. McCarthy on her appointment.
ADJOURNMENT
9:20 p.m. MOVED BY QUINN, SECONDED BY HOUGARDY THAT THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
TUKWILA CITY COUNCIL BE ADJOURNED. MOTION CARRIED 7 -0.
