Councilmen Naylor, Thompson, Dugan and Storey being present.
In the absence of Clerk John R. Walkup, Councilman Storey
was appointed to act pro tem.
The order of business was suspended and the Council pro-
ceeded to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Councilman
Saunders. Mr. Ed George was placed in nomination. There being no
further nominations the Council then elected Mr. George by the fol-
lowing vote: Naylor, Thompson, Dugan and Storey. The oath of office
was then administered and Mr. George was duly qualified as Council-
man.

City of Seattle, Water service Dept.
The above bills were read and referred to the Finnance
Committee. All bills were OKed and the clerk redered to draw war
rants for their respective amounts.

The Treasurer's report was then read and approved and or-
dered placed on file.
The report of Water Supt. was then read, approved and or-
dered placed on file.
The budget ordinance was then up There being no objections
offered at the hearing held October 2, the ordinance was read the
second time by title. On motion it was passed to third reading and
final passage by the following Note: Naylor, Thompson, Dugan Gadrge
and Storey.
A petition was presented by Mr. Hasbrook calling for a
special election for the prupose of disincorporation. The Clerk
was instructed to check names on petition with the registration
books.
A sial meting was,order &for October 10 to further
consider the pet ion.
There being no further business the Council adjourned
at 9:85 F.M.
