following Councilmen present: Naylor, Thompson Dugan, Storey and
George.
A report of the Registration Clerk was read as follows:
Of the 142 names in the petition calling for special election I
find,
39 names withdrawn
3 improperly signed
5 not appearing on registration books
By this check up there appeared only 95 qualified signers
and as the registration books showed 234 registered voters this was
not a sufficient number as required by law for the calling of a
special election.
On motion the request of petition was denied by the follow-
ing vote: Naylor, Thompson, George and Storey, Dugan not voting.
The Clerk was instructed to notify Mr. Fasbrook that the
petition had been denied.
