On 4/22/12 at 2:18PM, Tukwila Officers that were working foot patrol at Southcenter
Mall were called by security to contact a male who had previously been banned from
the property. The male was found to have a warrant out of the Department of
Corrections and was also labeled as "armed and dangerous The male fled on foot
from officers and ran southbound from the mall into the Tukwila Pond Park.
Several Tukwila officers responded to the scene and set up a perimeter. Tukwila K9
tracked the suspect and found him near the dock. The suspect jumped into the water
and swam to the opposite shore and disappeared in thick brush.
The male was again located by K9 on the east side of the pond and taken into custody
at 3:45PM.
The 21 year old Tacoma man has a lengthy criminal history and will be booked into jail
on charges of Obstructing, Resisting Arrest, and his multiple warrants.
