1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:01 PM
2. Roll Call
a. Board Members: Cynthia Chesak, Gerie Ventura, Verna Seal, Marie Parrish, Steve Miller,
• On-line: Robin Boland
• Absent: Angie Gonzalez
b. Staff:
• City of Tukwila Staff: John Dunn, Recreation Superintendent; Tony Cullerton, Deputy
Finance Director
• King County Library System Staff: Mary Sue Houser, Regional Manager; Steven Bailey,
Library Services Manager
3. Land Acknowledgement— Robin Boland read the land acknowledgement:
"The City of Tukwila is located on the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish people. We acknowledge their
continuing connections to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their elders past, present
and emerging."
4. Approval of Agenda and Minutes — August 6, 2024
a. Agenda & Minutes: Verna Seal motioned to approve the agenda and minutes as amended.
Cynthia Chesak seconded the motion to approve the agenda and minutes as amended; all were
in favor.
5. Public Comment: No public comments
6. Unfinished Business
a. TMC Ordinance update — John Dunn will be presenting to Finance and Governance Committee
on September 23rd and it is planned to be on consent agenda for full Council on October 7th.
7. New Business
a. Tony Cullerton, Deputy Finance Director had a presentation and led a discussion on allowable
spending by the board. Board members asked clarifying questions.
b. Remaining 2024 spending plan; The board discussed the remaining budget and discussed the
spending plan for the rest of the year.
c. Little Library Siting —John Dunn provided an update on the location for the 6th Little Library.
