HomeMy WebLinkAbout1935-04-04 Regular MinutesCouncil called to order by Mayor J. P. Walkup with the follow- ing Councilmen present, J. R. Naylor, Eli Thomsen, D. S. Duggan and J. 8. Storey. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The Water Supt. report was read and ordered filed. The Treasurer's report was read and ordered filed. The County Treasurer's report was read and ordered filed. The following bills were read and approved and on motion the Clerk was instructed to draw warrants for their respective amounts. BILLS Current Water Fund: City of Seattle, service for March $91.00 Agnes M. Hall, water collections 5.00 August Thies, salary expense 31.48 Current expense fund: J. M. Hall, Treasurer's salary ex August Thies, St. Supt. John R. Walkup, Clerk's ex James Cumming, Labor B. A. Foreman, Hall Rent expense Frank Front, Hauling 7.25 10.00 10.60 2.00 3.45 9.00 April 4, 1935 $133.48 42.30 The report of the County Election board was read declaring the following candidates elected as Tukwila's officers J. P. Walkup, Mayor 2 yr. term S. H. Neal, Treasurer 1 m Councilmen J. S. Storey 2 Eli Thomsen 2 A. H. Heemink 1 It Councilman Thomsen reported that he had secured contributions of shrubery which he desired to place in the park. The matter was referred to the Committee on Parks Playgrounds. The Street Supt. reported that he had built and placed several Band boxes. He reported roadway in bad shape on Riverside Ave. The matter was referred to the Street Committee. The Water Committee report d that they had instructed the Water Supt. to his judgement in collecting back bills or re- move-the meter. The Council sustained this action. The Clerk was instructed to look up prices for pur- chaisAng pay and blanks in connection with the State Gasoline road Tax. A oommunication from the Association of Washington Cities calling for a representative from Tukwila was read. A motion was made that the Mayor be sent as the representative. with expenses paid. A motion was made that the Clerk draw a warrant for *10.00 for dues to the Association. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 9:45P.M. Mayor Attest: Clerk
