range
Calls for service in the fourth quarter were
within range.
Case reports (online and officer -created) in
the fourth quarter are still lower than
expected, primarily due to decreases in theft
from vehicle, auto theft, and commercial
burglary cases.
Crime was down in several categories this
year, including those stated above plus
residential burglary which hit an all-time low.
One crime category that increased was
aggravated assault, which is primarily due to
an increase in felony domestic assaults. There
were 84 aggravated assaults in 2024, the
highest number since 2014.
2024 One benefit of better staffing is that new
detectives will be assigned missing persons
cases, taking them off the plate of the
detective who primarily investigates felony
domestic assaults.
