HomeMy WebLinkAbout1935-09-04 Regular MinutesTukwila, Wash. Sept. 4, 1935 The regular meeting of the Town Council was called to order at 8-40 P.M. by Mayor Walkup. The following councilmen were present: J. P. Naylor, Eli Thomsen, J. S. Storey, A. H. Heemink, D. S. Dug, gan. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Report of the Water Department read and approved. Report of the Treasurer'read and approved. On motion the following bills were approved: Current Expense Fund Samuel Neal, Treas. Salary $6.25 August Thies, St. Supt. Salary 10.00 James Cumming, Clerk -r,L 10.60 B. A. Foreman, Hall Rent 2.50 Carl Lee- -Labor 24.00 Trick Murray, Supplies 8.70 Nicola Santora- -Labor 8.00 L. E. Nelson- -Labor 24.00 Bill Hopkins -Labor 7.50 B. A. Foreman, Supplies 4.40 105.5 Current Water Fund City Seattle, Water Service 122.20 Trick Murray, Supplies 15.30 August Thies, Sal. Water Supt. Water Collector 5.00 Sales Tax Division Sales Tax (May June) 13.47 Sales Tax Division (July and August) 14.05 201.50 Letter from Shorts and Hartson read and discussed. Clerk in- structed to check up past correspondence and resolutaion re- garding matter at hand. After discussion it was decided that an emergency existed in t that the town had no ordinance covering control of slot machines and gambling devices. A short recess was declared to consider the glesplurktiont proper form for such an ordinance. The meeting was again called to order and on motion ordinance placed on first reading. Motion for second reading by title only. Motion for third reading and final passage. Motion that ordinance be aceppted. Mayor ordered that vote be by roll call. The full council being present voted unanimously for passage. Motion that Resolution 51 be passed that Mayor be authorized to sign release to State Department Public Welfare for certain data and documents required by the Works Progress Administration. Motion made instructingWatert Supt. to obtain any necessary supplies for water department. Council adjourned at 9 -30 P.M. Attest:
