ROLL CALL Melissa McCormick, Deputy City C|erk, called the roll of the Council. Present atthe meeting were Council Preok1entTunh Sharp (on -site)-, Mohamed Abdi (on -site), Armen Popyan (on -site), Jovite McConnell (on - site), Dennis Martinez (on-eite)and Hannah Hedrick (on -site). LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT Councilmember Hedrick stated "The City of Tukwila is located on the ancestral lands of the CoastSu|ish people. We acknowledge their continuing connections to land, waters and culture. Kathy Hougardy expressed concerns related to the planned parking for the Newporter property site. 2. Sharon Mann spoke about the need for transparency regarding fire related fees assessed on property 3. Kate Kruller spoke regarding repair of streetlights on Tukwila International Boulevard, and raised concerns about copper wire theft, the need for a flashing crosswalk and an additional fire hydrant in the area. 4. Joe Duffie thanked Mayor McLeod for the Black History Month Proclamation and shared concerns regarding the proposed reduction in time allotted for Public Comment. 5 Steve Autioshared concerns about increased fire fees and property taxes. Laurel Humphrey, Legislative Analyst, gave a brief overview of the nine applications rece:ived for Position 7. Councilmembers agreed to interview the 6 applicants that submitted complete packets at the scheduled 3/3Work Session and Regular Meeting. REPORTS e. Mayor Mayor McLeod attended Association of Washington Cities (AWC) City Action, Days in Lacey. b. Council President Sharp thanked those residents who made public comments and gave cautions Tukwila City Council Special Meeting Minutes Councilmember McConnell attended Foster Golf Course Centennial Event, AWC's City Action Days, and supported Foster Hi hsohoo[sVVrmntlingTeamasUleyadmamcedtothe State Championship. Councilmemb,er Martinez attended the South County Area Transportation Board meeting, the AWC's City Action, Days, a Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority Meeting and spoke with a subcommittee for the City of Seattle regarding vvorkh»,oe and affordable housing needs. CouncUmernberHedrick attended AVVC'oCity Action Days. There was no report, MISCELLANEOUS CoumciKmemberMartinez spoke regarding the taxing nfparking garages. CoumoHrnemberK8arUoez requested that the City Administrator provide Council with, a report on any claims that have been filed bythe City regarding the theft ofcopper wire.
