March 4, 2025, 6:00pm Location: Tukwila Community Center
1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:01 PM
2. Roll Call
a. Board Members: Cynthia Chesak, Verna Seal, Steve Miller, Crystal Lyons, Gerie Ventura

• City of Tukwila Staff: John Dunn, Recreation Superintendent
• King County Library System Staff: Steven Bailey, Library Services Manager;
3. Land Acknowledgement — Steve Miller read the land acknowledgement:

4. Approval of Agenda and Minutes —January 7, 2025
a. Agenda: Verna Seal motioned to approve the agenda. Cynthia Chesak seconded the motion to
approve the agenda; all were in favor.
b. Minutes: Verna Seal motioned to approve the minutes. Cynthia Chesak seconded the motion to
approve the minutes; all were in favor.
5. Public Comment: No public comments
6. Unfinished Business
a. Little Library update —John Dunn reported a request to install has been made to Parks Staff
asking to have installed by 4/1/25.
b. 2024 wrap up — Verna Seal reported she is finishing up the report and is collecting some final
info graphics to include on the report. Will be completed by next meeting.

c. Website Project — John Dunn shared a potential lay out and information to be presented on the
website. Board members provided additional ideas for inclusion. John will work with City staff
to have a page created.
7. New Business
a. State of the City Event — John reported the event will be held April 2 at 6pm. Event will be held
at Foster High School PAC. All are invited.
b. Student Representative Position —John reported that Angie Gonzales has stepped down from
the board. The Board discussed ways to recruit another student.
8. Staff Reports
a. KCLS: Staff provided updates on the upcoming activities at the library.
b. City of Tukwila: John Dunn provided an update on City and Parks and Recreation events,
programs and other information.
